A good place to consider if you are interested in becoming an engineer and getting a job may not be the right place if you have research/entrepreneurial interests.

TNPCEE via state wide counselling not a college specific interview had other options too but chose this college for the brand value.

Placements are at par with other leading colleges in Chennai/ India back then in 2005 almost 60% was placed via campus placement it may be much better now. Back then, the max salary was around 3 LPA. I am sure now its much much more companies like Infosys, TCS, Hexaware visited in 2005.

Lot of events college day where they used to invite film personalities not Amitabh Bachchan or Aishwarya Rai likes of R Madhavan and some local Tamil movie stars other than that each department runs its own tech festival which is like a 2-3 days thingy the college sponsors that too.

Not very expensive as par with other colleges in the university since bus and food is mandatory, the fee includes that too but they don't charge extra for that so overall I would say its ok not very bad apart from the fees, they also change for notebooks its mandatory to buy notebooks from them.

The mess is awesome the food is free here but the menu is set menu and you get stuff to each during the respective times tight from morning coffee and breakfast to mid morning tea and biscuits, followed by lunch and early evening tea hostelers get some snack with the tea. They also get awesome dinner.

I don't think there is a strong alumni network. The college itself does not facilitate an alumni network and the alumni are also very disconnected.

Every semester there was a univ wide exam which was common for all colleges of that university apart them that some internal examinations by the college 2 of them every semester then there were lab exams too every semester.

Average faculty most of them were very young most were M.Tech or Ph.D but again from similar private engineering colleges not from an IIT this is the only area where I felt, the college needs to improve faculty does not involve in research projects.
