About college life

PSCMRCET encourages every student to use the library. Standard text books and books by authors of repute in all fields taught at the college are stocked. The college follows a policy of buying multiple copies of many of these books to make them available to a large number of students. The college offers bus service for the benefit of students coming from distant places within Vijayawada city. Two buses with capacity of 30 seats pass through different routes so as to cover major areas and colonies of Vijayawada. These buses are also used for industrial visits and short distance excursion trips. Overall it is a great college loacted in the heart of the city of vijayawada with affordable fees and good faculty.If placement facilities are bit improved it will definitely stand first in the list of top colleges of AndraPradesh.

I took AP-EAMCET entrance examination and I got a rank of 34000 in the exam. i opted this college as it is in the heart of the city and it has a great history of Hindu high school. Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Vissamsetty Venkataratnam (SKPVV) Hindu High Schools Committee is the managing committee of the college. The society was formed by a group of philanthropists from business community of Vijayawada, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh in the year 1906. They contributed their might and collected donations from the like minded people and started primary school to provide education to the poor students of local area and surrounding villages, where there were no schools at that time. I opted for EEE(Electrical and Electronics engineering) course as Iam interested in Electrical equipments manufacturing.

The course totally comprises of 4 years (8 semesters) in which we have to go through various tough and interesting subjects. A student has to go through various practicals during the duration which improves practical skills. In the final semister i.e., in 4th year 2nd semester we have a choice of electives where we can choose a subject of our will. I personally recommend to choose ACS(Advanced control systems) subject which has wide variety of applications in practcal world.

Our college does not have stipend but it will offer various scholarships based on the merit. They encourage candidates by prizing various scholarships and Government of AP also provides scholarships for economically backward candidates.Government also provides reimbursement of fees for students who come under below poverty line. College also stands as a helping hand for poor students for pursuing their studies as it is formed by donations.

Our college has a Training and Placement cell .The goal of Training & Placement Cell is to provide world-class training and employment opportunities to PSCMR Students in Leading Organizations. A full pledged placement cell is functioning in our college with a full time placement officer. It Invites various Industries for campus recruitment. I Follows a policy of 'One Person One job'. The Training & Placement service facilitate contacts between companies and graduates throughout the year. It also conducts parents meetings. The aim of the placement cell is to provide the necessary information and skills to the students to compete in the market and find a placement. Those considering careers in education and related fields are offered detailed career guidance at the Training &Placement Cell. All counsel is based on advanced placement statistics and an envisioned view of future and educational and industrial trends. The goal is to help build a long term career in leading organizations and not just place the students. Companies like Oracle, Facebook, HSBC, Cognizant, HCL conducted drive in our college for recruiting ccandidates.

Various Events were conducted in our college and most important of them is JIGNASA: It is an event which is organized and celebrated in the college. Students and faculty enjoyed the most whole event. Various technical workshops were conducted in the college. 5 Day workshop on PLC & SCADA Organising by Dept. of EEE ws recently conducted in the college. Freshers day and farewell day were conducted every year where the freshers mingle with the seniors and takes guidance of seniors. Recently PSCMRCET 7th Annual Day Celebration and 7th Annual Sports and Carnival were also conducted where various colleges from Andhrapradesh has participated.

The payment seat of our college costs 50,000 rupees per year where as if we get admission through AP-EAMCET exam it costs 31,600 rupees per year. For MBA it is 40000 rupees per anum. These are all details of fees of all campus courses. The fee structure is pretty feasible as Economically Backward students coming from AP-EAMCET exam comes under fee reimbursement scheme where the total fees per year is paid by them. Additional scholarships will be provided by AP Government for economically backward candidates.

The loan facility will be provided by many banks and there is an SBI branch beside our college. We can avail loan facility by submitting prescribed documents asked by the bank and college will provide all the required documents useful for applying loan for candidates. Only candidates who comes under economically backward class can avail loan facility by providing income certificate. Scholarships ranging from 3000/- to 6000/- will be provided by government for economically backward candidates basing on their academic performance.

Sports and Games play an important part in every student's life. They give much of recreation and relaxation in ones hectic schedule. At PSCMRCET, sports are included in the academic curriculum to encourage students in various co-curricular activities. We have annual sports meet every year and students of the college also participate actively in various other tournaments outside the college. Many of our college students brought laurels in the tournaments conducted outside. The management also encourages the students by giving various prizes for the winners in the annual Sports Meet competetions. Outdoor games like Volleyball, Kho-Kho, Tennicoit and Indoor games like Shuttle-Badminton, Table Tennis, Chess and Carroms are very well encouraged. The college have 2 Volley Ball courts, 2 Badminton Courts, 4 Table Tennis Tables, 1 Cricket Net. IT Workshop is provided with all the facilities to demonstrate the assembly of any computer system and installation procedures of software as well as hardware. All the computing labs are provided with Projection systems which facilitate the organisation of software training system. The software required for projecting an electonic board is also made available recently. Engineering Workshop is a part of the S & H Department and offers the trades of Fitting, Carpentry, House wiring, Black Smithy and Sheet metal work.

The college has a good canteen facility with wide range of food items. Ranging from breakfast to the Lunch, every food item that is available is tasty, hygenic and affordable with subsidized rates. The college has a mineral water plant to supply safe drinking water continuously. The rates are very cheaper when compared to regular prices of hotels. As the college is in the heart of the city hostel facilitied are not provided for boys. The hostel facilities for girls is provided where security is provided day and night. If one donot want to stay at hostel they can live outside for rent where a room costs around 3000 rupees and can be on sharing basis.

As we are the first batch(2012) of our college we donot have seniors and we ourselves are seniors for posterity. As seniors we guide all our juniors in better way for pursuing their academics witout any hindrance. There is no ragging problem in our college. We the first batch has eastablished an anti-ragging cell where the members of the cell will take care of ragging related matters and maintain composure in the college. Till now the cell is continuing and we are very proud to say that there is no ragging in our college. We guide our juniors not only in education but also in sports and other developmental activities.We help our juniors throughout their carrier and helps them in achieving their goals.

Every year we have to attend for 2 semesters and 3 internal exams in which both theory and practical exams are conducted. The lab internals are very exciting and we will get a great practical exposure which is useful even after completing graduation course. The exams are very entertaining and labs are maintained good. The labs are fully equipped with the latest machines and experienced faculty. All these labs are equipped with the required facilities and software.Our department has well-equipped laboratories like Electrical Machines lab, Power Electronics & Control Systems lab and Networks & Electrical Measurements lab. The major equipment in the laboratories include A.C & D.C Machines, C.T.Testing Equipment, Power Electronic Kits, Control equipments & major Electrical circuit equipments. 21 computers are installed in the laboratories.

The faculty comprises of P.Hd and M.tech Degree who are very caring towards students and explains everything clearly. The head of the departments are compulsorily P.Hd completed faculty.
