Bad weather in kanpur not good as compare to other cities. Everything other than weather here in IIT Kanpur is comfortable.

College Events

Antaragni is the annual cultural festival of IIT Kanpur held in the month of October and is one of the popular college festivals in India. It is a four day long festival attracting participation from over 200 colleges of India.

Fees and Financial Aid

List of Sports Prizes based on their performance in the Inter IIT Meet-2013. Students receive full tuition waiver, and pocket allowance of Rs 1000 pm for the duration of the program. This is merit based scholarship hence, the recipients must maintain a minimum CPI of 6.5.

IIT Kanpur offers a vibrant campus life. It is a safe and secure campus. Students will find the beautiful and peaceful campus a great place to live. When they wish to do something there are a lot of choices available to them. Students can pursue the passions they bring to the campus. Or they can take up new ones. There are many recreational facilities,hobby clubs,sports facilities and cultural societies on campus.In the chosen activity whether a student is a beginner or is at an advanced level the student will have company.

The Rs 38 figure might be from few years back when the institute was subsidizing the mess bill. That has been stopped since 2008-09 and at the moment most messes are charging BDMR (basic daily mess rate) of around Rs 50.

After 6 th semester you are eligible for campus placement. Many companies are comes likes Accenture, Cognizant, Wipro, TCS, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Cagegimini etc and they offer decent package. Highest package 3000000 and average package 400000 and profile offered as for company required. 80 percentage student get placement. Take a placement in good MNC company.

Actually I didn't research on the placement. But in college campus I saw many boards of placed students and the average package is around 4-4.5lakh per annum.and college data says about 90%of students are placed. I am preparing for both off-campus and on campus placement.

Our college offer good placement it has average placement of 11 Lpa. Highest package of 52 lpa in Google. I choose this course because I want to be a software developer. The faculty are very kind and helpful. Almost every faculty member has completed there post-graduation from various established colleges. The examination scheme is a little bit slow here. Students can pass their semester exams if they are paying at least 45 per cent of their concentration.

I choose this college becouse of its flexible acdemic structure and its great Alum connections. Also this is the best college i am getting according to my rank and my interest in mathematics. I have Applied for IIT delhi in electronics. IIT Delhi is also a great college but when it comes to academic focus IIT delhi lacks there. Also there faculty administratation is so strict. if a student wants to start something or he/she has a new iniative for the college , he/she will face hard time. So I couldn't make it to IIT Roper CSE branch because my jee adance rank is not that great for the Roper' Computer science. So the Admission process here at IITK is not difficult. You just the originaly document which you have submitted in your josa counselling portal and you need to verify it once here usually a couple opf hours work. Life @ IITK

I chose IIT Kanpur over othe rcooleges because of its academic reputation, research opportunities and strong alumini network. I was also able to get seats in other IITs but I preferred IIT Kanpur due to its legacy . I didn't face rejections, but did not opt for some colleges even after qualifying due to lower research output, weaker placement stats.
