Remarks

Need to focus on more practical engineering rather than theory.

Entrance Preview

I took B.Tech Electrical from faculty of engineering and technology JMI. It's one of the 21central Universities in Indian. Electrical engineering department has state of art scada labs Abb as well as Siemens that are rarely found in other colleges. It's a core branch of engineering and has good placement track record. But the competition exam is pretty stuff.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The syllabus is upto the international standards. Each subject is taught separately. Unlike other colleges who mingles two engineering disciplines in one like e&c (Electrical and Electronics) it only has core branches. Each subject has its own practical lab and mentor.

Internships Opportunities

No our college don't provide internship but they assist us to get trainings and internships in other industries or companies.

Placement Experience

4

As a college of repute and a central University huge no of companies participate themselves in placement sessions. A track record of upto 300 percent have been achieved. I was one of the lucky one to get campus placement. In my year of passout 2009 various companies along with the packages in lacs they offered are as follows. Siemens 4.0 Lanco infra 4.5,ACC 4.2,ABB 4.0.

College Events

3

Technical events like programming competition, robotics skills, cultural events, team building, festivals, convocation days etc are events that are celebrated and sponsored by many companies. A deep sense of belonging to the institution and is devoted to maximizing the opportunities available to students across the campus and beyond. The Faculty of Engineering and Technology has a full fledged training and placement office that is responsible for training and placement of students. Reputed multinational companies have consistently recruited our students through campus placements.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being a central University it's obviously one of the cheapest University. E.g Rs 7000 APROX annual fee for B.Tech course. Where as these days most of the private colleges charge fees in lacs per annum but government colleges and central Universities have very low fees structure. Although due to limited seats and high demand jamia have started courses in the evening which have little higher fees as they are not funded by ugc. Other regular courses have even lower fee structure compared to engineering courses.

Fees and Financial Aid

NIL scholarship or loan. But at times can be availed if available on website. Research programs leading to PhD are also offered by all the departments. All courses of the Faculty are duly approved by the All India Council for Technical Education and the medium of instruction is English for all the courses.

Campus Life

4.5

Politics is almost nil as the union has been dissolved by vice chancellor and delhi government due to some unrest among the university students. However there have been always an organization of various social and cultural events where students are given a chance to show their talents and learn new things.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostels are threesome sharing rooms with average food quality. Faculty is currently executing several infrastructure development projects to cater to its future needs. The future developmental plans of the Faculty include introduction of new undergraduate and postgraduate programs in emerging areas complete automation of examination system modernization and automation of Faculty library, creation of a Wi-fi campus, development of smart classrooms and introduction of course credit-transfer arrangements with institutions in India and abroad.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is very good but average. Although seniors are helpful to get guidance, jobs etc. There are some websites and social media like Facebook and Linked In through which we have a common platform like jamiaites global on Facebook.

Exam Structure

Exams are hectic one and not easy. They keep you busy all through 4years. There are 8 semesters and each semester is followed by 2 sessional tests. Regular Lectures, seminars, presentations and practical labs are in between the sheets Many alumni are working as faculty and consultants in reputed institutes and organizations in India and abroad. The students of the Faculty have access to a Faculty library that is equipped with modern e-learning tools apart from consortium of INDEST and INFLIBNET and a large collection of text and reference books.

Faculty

4

The faculty is well experienced and reputed one mostly from IIt's and NTPC's etc. Unlike other colleges having nil experience and young faculty members. Each faculty is master in his subject.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

Placements are good in DTU. Usually a student is eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki, etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
