Remarks
Jabalpur Engineering College is one of the oldest engineering colleges in India. It is a very prestigious College, and is recognised nationally. It is said to be the 3rd best engineering college in Madhya Pradesh after IIT Indore and MANIT Bhopal. It was the first College to introduce Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering in India, the first television of Asia and many other such historical devices are heritage of this college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course syllabus has not been updated much according to the progressing technology, industrial exposure is upto the student, one gets the chance to do industrial training in summer every year and alumni and college staff are very supportive to provide guidance. Some faculties are very supportive. Because we have shortage of faculty, we have some professors employed centrally for a period of 2 years.
Placement Experience
The official website of Jabalpur Engineering College releases an annual report every year which contains all the details of how many students appeared for campus, GATE,CAT etc and how many got selected. One can look it up in the notice section and study the figures. Alumnis are very helpful and have done a lot for the college and it's students. Recently a alumni had gifted the college with an auditorium. Entrepreneurship Cell is very active and hackathons are regularly organized, the selected teams are then funded by the college.
College Events
Recently after much effort the permission to conduct fests was got. This year we were supposed to have cultural, techno cultural and sports fest, but due to the pandemic it didn't happen. Last year sports fest was organised. All management was done by students of the college from ground level. Having a good campus life will depend totally on the individual, of participating and organising events whenever you get the opportunity.
Fees and Financial Aid
For Madhya Pradesh students, there is Medhavi Chhatra Yojna, where if your annual income is less than 6 lakhs and 12th percentage is more than 85% for cbse board and more than 75% for mp board, the fees of the college is given by state government, also, in every branch their are 5 seats allocated for fee waiver, where the selection is made on merit.
Campus Life
Sports facilities are good, JEC has won many matches and tournaments in different sports, the expenditure for going to any national tournament is done by the college. Library is totally academically based, there are no books(except magazines) that are not related to studies. Equipments are out dated but these days they are getting changed.
