IIM Indore stands on a high ranking among the top B schools in India. I cleared the rounds and got admission into one of the most prestigious management institute so I chose to join it. The college provides a very good exposure in terms of students across the country, the curriculum and the industry exposure during placements and competitions.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is well designed to give insights about various management domain: marketing, HR, finance, operations, IT etc. The syllabus is well updated and provides industrial insights by dealing with real-time industrial cases and their discussions. The faculties mostly are well experienced in their domain except a few who despite having good knowledge lack a bit in delivering it to the students.
Internships Opportunities
Yes I got a business development internship in a startup. The COVID situation caused the stipend to stand null for majority of students
Placement Experience
There are 100 percent placements. The drawback is the batch size of 600 which creates a hurdle in the placement process and the campus not being approached by that many brands as compared to other location branches: IIM Bangalore etc. The companies are BCG, Goldman Sachs, the big4, Google etc.
College Events
The company exposure is ample in terms of the competitions being held by L'oreal, HUL etc. There are separate clubs for each domain which conduct events regularly at inter and intra-college level. The are are three major fests as of now:the annual management and cultural fest:IRIS which has national participation upto 500 in the competitions and people from India coming to stay in the campus for the three day fest. Then there is a rural marketing fest with campus students and villagers of a nearby place. And there is a marathon conducted ion sponsorship with some local people and authorities.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is no scholarship as such. There is a SBI bank branch in the campus itself from where a lot of students take education loan.
Campus Life
The campus is laid across 190 acres with ample greenery and being on a hill provides a very soothing environment. The campus has faculty residents, students residents, 4 mess, gym, facilities for all sports like table tennis to swimming. Their is wifi and LAN provision in all the hostels and across the academic blocks. The library is around 25000 sq feet and is divided into detailed sections subject wise and has ample space for self study.
Hostel Facilities
Yes hostel stay is compulsory in the campus. The rooms are enough spaced with bed, table and chairs. Each student gets a room in PG course while some PGP-HR students get a shared room. One of the drawbacks is there are a set of washrooms on floors instead of attached washrooms with the room expected with the fee being charged.
