Daniel Kalot's Review On Indian Institute Of Science Education And Research - [IISER], Mohali

My father is a teacher and he is the main mentor of my life. My father was very convinced from the step of government to establish basic science institutes in our country and when they were established they decided to sent me in IISER and for that I also took tuition during my class 12th studies and prepared for IAT.

Faculties are very well educated and they behave very nicely with students. All the faculties have great scientific and research knowledge. All the students are assigned a particular faculty called faculty advisor during their major years and in minor years a mentor is assigned to every student. Faculties help the students to study and excel in their academics.

There is no such faciliy in our college to provide direct placements to students after their 5 year degree. Our college provide internship to students who are willing to work in science field. Students more prefer to do phds after their 5 year bs-ms degree.

Every national festivals like Makar shankranthi, Maha shivarathri, Holi, Easter, Eid Al fitar, Independence day, Raksha bandan, Ganesh chathurthi, Navrathri are celebrated in my college. Onam and Christmas are also celebrated. INSOMNIA is the annual fest of our college.

I am having an INSPIRE Scholarship in which the stipend is provided by DST. BSMS students are given a monthly stipend of 5000 rupees per month.

Infrastructure of our college is designed in a very nice way and according to the rules of Punjab and Chandigarh government which doesnot allow to paint the buildings. Buildings are designed in such a waay that it can tolerate a good strength earthquake.

Hostels are fine and much better than IITs and other engineering colleges. Hostels are very neat and clean. There are total 4 hostels each o 8 floor in our campus. Hostels have both cold and warm water facility. We have multiple working lifts in our hostels. We have good internet connectivity in every room.
