Remarks

Since I was a small child I really wanted to become a scientist. Iiser provides me knowledge and the degree to do the same. Interest in research made me come to iiser. It is one of the best intitutes in India. It has good infrastructure and hostels are also very clean. Although you get roommate in first and second year but in third year you get an individual room for more privacy and space to store. Iiser is not only brilliant in academics but also keeps in mind the importance of sports and extra curricular activities. That's why, membership of sports club and any other club of your own choice is mandatory in iiser Mohali. Iiser Mohali also has great labs for the practicals Excellent grading system which helps you secure good marks All the festivals are really enjoyed in iiser and seniors are very cooperative. In no time iiser will become your family and home.

Course Curriculum Overview

Our course syllabus was designed really well and up to date. It was not that difficult and also not very easy. You will learn a lot of new things in our institute that you have never heard of before. Faculties are very good and cooperative. They all are well qualified. Iiser Mohali also has TAs or teaching assistant who can be very helpful. They also have help sessions for the students who are unable to learn in the class or are facing some difficulties Also labs are a fun activity you will really enjoy the lab sessions During lockdown we had online classes regularly From next semester help sessions will also become online Dr. Abhishek Chaudhary one of the best professors

Internships Opportunities

I am a first year student so I don't have to do internships right now But I did indulge myself in Summer internship under the guidance of Dr. Harvinder Kaur Jassal in the field of physics My topic of internship was special theory of relativity Although it was a reading project but I did learn so many things during lockdown

Placement Experience

3.5

I don't know that much about the placements and job opportunities But this year many fifth year students went to foriegn universities for PhD and all They are all going to have a really good package. There are lots of opportunities after the course completion

College Events

5

Iiser Mohali campus life is all you need in your life It's the most amazing and thrilling experience of your life The first main event is obviously fresher's and it is simply magnificent Iiser Mohali holds lot of competitions in between we have so many clubs art club dance club singing club sports club drama club robotics club and a lot more Every student can find their interest and have fun We also have our yearly fest insomnia Although it was cancelled this year due to corona virus pandemic but we have seen YouTube videos showing the fun and thrill they had during feats Treasure hunts are one of the best things they do in iiser Mohali

Fees and Financial Aid

KVPY students get 5000 per month as scholarship and also top 1 percentile students in boards get the same scholarship. For the iiser Aptitude test you do have to get certain percentage in boards for example in year 2019 it was 88% for CBSE boards For Scholarship it was 94.6 %

Campus Life

Infrastructure is modern and really amazing. Iiser Mohali has lots of teams like basketball, cricket, badminton, table tennis, football, etc and also teams for girls. A lot of competitions are held intra as well as interiisers In first year joining sports club is mandatory for the students. They keep in mind the overall development. WiFi connections are very strong and every student is provided with free WiFi as we need internet connections for our studies and labs Iiser Mohali library is one of the best libraries I have ever seen in my entire life. We have 8 floored library with books in every genre Students who are unable to buy books can easily borrow it from library. Labs are great Fully air conditioned

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are compulsory in IISER In my opinion also one must have an experience of hostel life during their college years We do have a roommate in first and second year but get an individual room in third year. Having a roommate in initial years helps you to know people and make new friends adjust to the new environment Once you get settled you are going to miss iiser the second you leave it Every hostel has a caretaker and a mess. We have 4 Co ed hostels it means there is a boy's wing and a girl's wing in every hostel Canteens in two hostels and laundry machines in one hostel There are study rooms common rooms In short it's awesome

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because the curriculum is well-designed and covers all the important MLS subjects with both theory and practical training. It helps us understand real-world lab work and prepares us for future studies or jobs. The curriculum is good, but adding more practical sessions and updated lab equipment would make it even better. Exams are held regularly, and their difficulty level is moderate. Students can easily pass if they study on time, though practical exams need more focus.

Firstly I was not sure if i should do i MLS course, but after I came to this college , they cleared my vision. I don't have enough knowledge about this specific field, the montors guided me & helped me to choose the best. Now I am very happy and satisfied as being the part of MLS department. I will become a Lab technician after this course. The lab technicians plays a very important role in healthcare department. This college provides internships to practice everything. They also conducts job fairs for students such as" Umeed Job Fair "which was conducted recently in the college. The 1st year is basically is theoretical & practical knowledge, after that in 2nd or 3rd year, students gets placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course that is bsc in artificial intelligence and data science is quite demanding and I think this is the only field which is growing faster. Another reason for choosing this was I had huge interest in this field. But faculty, their teaching way and syllabus is too way less as compared to course. They focus more on their rather than the practical work but in this field practical work is more important than theory as theory plays no role in this field . They must reduce the number of mid sem exams conducted and focus more on making students better in practical work. After the starting of semester, just after 25 days when syllabus not even completed as the 1st unit.. they shout spreading the news of exams. We just got too busy in exams which make us feel distracted from our real work .
