Remarks

Overall, I'd say the college was good w.r.t basic infrastructure, facilities and location. Towards the end, the faculty hired were inexperienced, which posed problem for the students.

Entrance Preview

CET (Common Entrance Test, Karnataka) - I had a ranking of around 3000. I opted for this college because:1) It had a decent ranking at the time2) It was nearer to my house.3) I got the stream of my choice (CSE)

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is set by VTU (Vishweshwaraiah Technological University) and it covers plenty of subjects. We had approximately 8 subjects per semester, and I now feel that it was quite a burden, considering the vast curriculum. The first year of engineering had common subjects across streams and we had Computer Science subjects from the second year onwards. The subjects cover everything from C, C++, Java, C#, Data Structures, Algorithms, System Software, Compiler Design, Web Programming, Operational Research, Software Engineering, Computer Architecture, Operating Systems, DBMS, Linux, Unix, Perl etc.

Internships Opportunities

No companies visit the college to provide internship opportunities since the college does not allow the student to pursue internships during the course.

Placement Experience

2

Placements were okay. We had the following companies: Infosys - 3.25, LPAL&T - 3, LPATech Mahindra - 3 LPAMphasis - 3 LPASasken - 3 LPACaritor - 2.5 LPAThese are the ones I remember

College Events

2.5

Cultural Fest "Ananya" - conducted for 2 days, is an inter-collegiate cultural fest, in which various contests are organized and plenty of colleges from all over Bangalore participate. Around 200-300 students take part in this (from other colleges)There are also intra-collegiate events conducted during this in which the entire college participates.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is feasible if the seat is obtained through the CET (Common entrance test) since the fee structure is decided by the Government. (Around 35k - 40k PA)Management seats are quite expensive and cost anywhere around 1.25LPA to 1.75 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

No scholarship or loan facility offered by the college, that I know of. I did not avail any loan either, for my studies and hence do not have further information on this.

Campus Life

4

Gender Ratio: My class had more girls than guys, being the CS stream. The gender ratio is usually equal in all streams except Mech. which predominantly has guys.Hostel Parties: I am not aware of any such major hostel parties, and I don't think college hosted any.Cultural Societies: The college didn't seem to have any. We were however allowed to

Hostel Facilities

4

I was a day-scholar, so I am not aware of this. But hostels are quite expensive and the food is supposedly okay.

Alumni/Alumna

I have not attended any Alumni meets so far. They do conduct alumni meetings once in a while but I am not sure of the activities that take place in these. I am not in touch with any of the senior students either.

Exam Structure

Exams are conducted successively without much time-gap between two exams. So exams are quite stressful, and the same holds true for laboratory examinations and internals.

Faculty

3

The faculty in CS Department at that point in time very really knowledgable and technically sound. But I have heard that most of them have now quit the institution.
