It is a very good college. It was and is Rank no 1 in MP. It has well qualified and experienced faculty. It has well equipped labs. It also has well equipped work shops where students can work on Machines, can operate IC Engines, Steam Engines, Boilers, various material testing equipment like Tensile Testing, Charpy test, Compression test etc. It has canteen and we'll eqiped hostels. It has good library. It also has good sports facilities.

The enterence was on merit basis. The enterence was on Madhya Pradesh level basis. The entrance used to be conducted by Board for Technical Education M P. The selection criteria used be aggregate marks scored during Higher Secondary Examination in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

It was very good. The subjects covered were Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry. Technical English, Engineering Drawing, Work Shop Technology, Electrcal Engineering, Strength of Materials, Heat Technology, IC Engines, Machine Design, Material Science, Theory Of Machines, Refrigeration Engineering, Industrial Psychology, Operation Research etc.

The companies which visited were Kirloskar Brothers, Gajra Gears, Indian Navy, Indian Army, D&H Sechron, Steel Tubes of India Ltd. etc. The average stipend was Rs 750 pm.

The college holds inter college competition for Basket Ball, Football, Badminton, Tennis, Kabbadi etc. It holds intra college sports competition. It holds annual Cultural Program and also cultural inter college competition. The Technical Exhibition is held every year.

The college had many scholarships. I availed M P GOVT. MERIT CUM MEANS scholarship. The college management trust used to give merit and merit cum Means Scholarship. The college used to give free ship to economically weak students. In addition to this MP GOVT used to give halfship to Government Servent children.

The college had almost 1200 students. The girls presence was only 12 which is insignificant. There was no indiscrimination as regard to religion, caste, gender. There used to be Hostel day every year.

The college had three hostels. The hostels could accommodate about 600 students. One room used to be shared by two students. Every hostel had separate mess which used to run with college subsidiaries.

There is GSITS Alumini which is very active It has annual get together. This I attend every year.

There used be continuous examination during the semester. Every semester used to have two periodical tests, two surprise tests, one university exam. The practical are for two subjects every day, one one internal and one university practical exam every semester .

The faculties were well qalified most of them were P. hD. The faculty was well experinced as lecturer had average 10 yrs, Reader average 15 yrs and Professors above 20 years experince.
