A Proud Yatanite

Remarks well, I think I have said alot about college. Its like a dream come true to be a part of such a great college. I am glad that I am a part of Shikshayatan. College manages everything very smoothly and efficiently. Our college is located in a very happening area of Kolkata. The college is like a school as said earlier, and I'm proud to be in a school once again. And I am proud to be a Yatanite.

The course curriculum is given by the Calcutta University. Our professors are very highly educated. They are very particular about the portions they teach in details. In 3rd year, we have a research paper and our department professors are our mentors and there are times when we see how sensitive and caring they are about our future and us.

Its a new thing in our college and we are still processing with it. And the thing is that I enrolled my name today itself in the Placement cell. So, I really don't know much about it. Would have known a bit better, if I was a pass out. The earlier internships that I did was through college itself because of the exposure given.

It is feasible. With all the facilities provided in our college - library, full air conditioned and wifi college, cleanliness, infrastructure, security. There is so much and so the fees is feasible. For people who have a problem with fees have a facility to apply for refunding it.

Scholorship - Yes. Our college has a facility to repay the students their fees back who cannot afford the fees.

Our college is a girl's college. We have students from all different places of this country. Extra-curricular activities - I mentioned all of them in the no. of events ur college has. Its vast if we sit down to write them down one by one. There is No ragging in our college. Its like we get another family here. We are diverisfied on a vast range and politics ? We are an A-political college. There is no politics related in our college.

We donot have a hostel. So students generally stay at PG. We have a PG that is just next to college and the seats are limited there. We have quite a number of PG in our college area. Students prefer to stay whichever place and the accomodation fees suits them.

The interaction starts from Day 1. When we enter college on first day, our seniors welcome us, they talk to us and tell us about college, teachers and so on. Our seniors are always there like our teachers. They are always ready to help us. They are not seniors, they are like our friends. When I joined college, I thought alot about ragging and was scared of weird and strict seniors. But to my surprise, they all were amazing.

We have packed schedule for our classes. We almost have 33 hons class in a week. We have class tests and discussions. Coming to exam structure then we have our Mid-terms and Selection Test. It is done in a very formal way, well like a University exam. I find my other department friends who have Lab or Practical, they do alot of practicals alongwith their normal classes.

I had Mathematics and Education as my general papers alongwith Economics as my honors. All the teachers are regular with their class timings. When a faculty member is absent, another faculty member substitutes the class but never let our time go in waste. As said earlier, they all are highly qualified and they are always there for us whenever in need.
