Awesome Experience at SCMS ug

One thing which I did not like is that the faculty is too lenient on students. They award marks to each and every student so that he can pass. Due to this, there are some students, who do not focus on studying properly and their only focus is on getting placed in a big corporation.

The entrance test is Symbiosis Aptitude Test. I gave the exam in 2008 and scored 98 marks out of 150. I was selected in the third cut off list.

The faculty is really good giving a practical approach to the subjects they teach. The course curriculum is designed to make a student understand the accountability & value of an organization.

I did my NGO internship at Pradan in Jharkhand. It was a 45 days internship where I had to visit interior areas of the state and explain to the farmers about export opportunities of mangoes. I was paid Rs 10, 000 for the internship. I did my corporate internship at Sharekhan Broking Services in Pune where my task was to explain investment opportunities to existing clients of Sharekhan. It was a 2 months internship where I was paid a stipend of Rs 7000 per month.

Placements is pretty decent for a BBA graduate. Big brands like KPMG, BNP Paribas, SBI Life and Edelweisis Capital are a major attraction for students. Average package offered id around Rs 3.5 lakhs per annum. I was placed in Wipro Systems as an associate accountant where I was offered a package of 3 lakhs per annum including benefits.

Sympulse is the main event of the college and is well known among student population across India. Sympulse event has also been featured in bollywood films like FALTU & Bodyguard. This event consists of dance competition, debate, virtual stock market game, monopoly game, fashion show and a t20 cricket tournament.

In my batch 2008-11, the fees was Rs 1 lakh per year which has gradually increased to Rs 1.75 lakh per year for the current batch. Loans are available easily from leading banks. If you want to avail the hostel, then you have to shell out Rs 30, 000 per semester which does not include mess fees as it keeps on changing.

Loan facilities can be availed at the time of admission from all leading banks. However, there is no scholarship.

Campus life is cool. If you visit Pune, you will hear only one thing and that is Symbii Life. College used to host a range of debate competitions such as Virtual IMF, Investor's Summit etc. There are equal no of female students as that of male students. Freshers parties are organized by college at the most happening places in pune such as Firangi Pani, Hard Rock Cafe, ABC Farms etc. Students come from all type of economic backgrounds as the admissions take place on merit basis.

Hostels are good, the rooms are cleaned daily. Every student is provided with a bed, study table and an almirah. The mess food is the best part of hostel. Daily buffet makes it exciting. Menu changes every week. The food is very hygienic an tasty.

The alumni network of this college is one of the best in countries. I have seen that often we get to know about various job opportunities from the alumni. The fresh pass outs are absorbed by big brands because of the alumni network.

The external exams is of 60 marks per subject where you have to score minimum 18 marks to pass. The internal exam is of 20 marks and its score is added along with the external exam score.
