Remarks

I got it in JoSSA, I cleared JEE advanced too and was eligible for IIT too, I waited till 3rd round of JoSSA counselling, people adviced me to lock VNIT as It is far better than the latest newly established IITs, henced I locked my option in third round itself.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum was always on the modern side, and annually revised courses were introduced. We have a number of open courses to take along with our core subjects like psvhycology, rural development (where we actually visit villages and do projects to help villagers solve their issues), innovative design (where we take up a real life problem and try to find innovative solutions), German, etc.

Internships Opportunities

I did an internship in reliance industries limited in my third year for two months, with total stipend of _60,000. Apart from stipend, they provide accommodation in a 5star hotel for 2 months, and also reimburse for travel to and fro by flight. There is no much struggle to keep looking for internships in college if we are sincere. All we need to do is prove our best in campus intern recruitments.

Placement Experience

5

Top notch companies visit our campus. Amazon, ExxonMobil, deshaw, google, United health group, Goldman Sachs, reliance etc. Our highest package was 35 this year by deshaw. We have a very strong alumni network. From Nitin Gadkari ji in politics to neelam saxena (joint secretary, UPSC), we have our alumni placed in variety of fields. Also, networking is so strong that most alumni are readily available to help their Juniors get great opportunities and refer them to the best of their ability. May it be on FB, insta, linkedin, they are reachable to juniors at any time and also take up seminars for us regularly to share their experiences. Startups by our college alumni like Boeing and donatekart are gaining increased popularity.

College Events

5

Don't even get ne started on this, there is scope for anything and everything. We have 3 huge fests every year- axis (tech fest), Aarohi (cultural fest) amd consortium (management fest) completely organized by students itself. right from financing the fests to calling huge celebrities like Abdul kalam and sunita williams to be a part of our fests, there is unbelievably exciting opportunity everywhere. Footfall is approximately about 20,000 overall in these fests. Apart from being in the core committees of these fests, being the representative of department or a Student mentor are also excellent opportunities. There are numerous clubs which are highly active.

Campus Life

Our campus is well spread I'm over 215 acres of land. We have a very huge library of 3 floors and lakhs of books on various topics. We have 2 sports grounds with basketball, khokho, volleyball, football, throwball, cricket, kabaddi facilities. We also have a separate tennis court. We do have a huge 3 storeyed sports complex with numerous halls like yoga halls, TT halls, badminton stadium and carrom/chess arena. Our labs are well equipped but the condition of equipment is slightly detoriating over time, however, new equipment are being timely ordered. For research projects, there is huge scope to perform various experiments.we have a 13-storeyed classroom complex, two 11-storeyed buildings for girls and boys each, and many other boys hostel buildings (since their strength is huge). There is a music room(with many instruments like guitar, keyboard, tabla, octave drums, etc ), innovation club room (for robotics enthusiasts to build robots), student activity room(for organisers of various college fests) and many more. We indeed have a real life decommissioned MIG-23 in display on our campus gifted by Indian Airforce. We have a decent enough canteen, night canteens in repsective hostels of boys and girls and a juice center within campus.

Hostel Facilities

The rooms are splendid, it is no less to a hotel room. In NIT it's almost inevitable to opt for a hostel so all procedures are done along with admission. _72,000 per anum is the hostel fee. It has a 3 storeyed mess and recreational building adjacent to it. Food is good enough, breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner are provided in mess. There is a lift in the hostel, to support 11 floors, 4 elevators are provided in total. There is a night canteen within the hostel itself. Intime for first years is 9 p.m and from 3rd year onwards it is 10 p.m. however, if one wishes to stay out late for dinner or a movie, written permission may be taken a day in prior, so there is usually no issue for outings or parties once in a while with friends.

Placement Experience:

During my time the first company that visited our organization was Naukri.com, and feel proud to say that i got placed in the same organization. I am very happy with my placement. But talking about my peers. Number of companies who visited to our institute was compared to low as per our expectations. Majority of the companies who visited the institute were sales based organizations. Very less companies for finance and HR field. This made a difficult call for students.
