Satwik Bahl's Review On SCD Government College, Ludhiana

I chose this college because it is near to my residence. The facilities provided are excellent and the fees is quite nominal. It also provides scholarships to underprivileged and needy students. I opted this course because it allows us to learn various subjects under a single roof which gives us a knowledge of each and every field.

The syllabus is properly and carefully designed keeping in view the latest updates in each and every subject being taught. However, it doesn't cover a large part of the each subject. The information provided is less and not that brief. We have to rush to the library to learn things in brief. The faculty is qualified and try all possible methods to teach students in interesting ways. They are always there to help out and give information about the internship opportunities and placements. Industrial visits are organized by them rarely.

Placements are not so good. There is a career guidance bureau in college that organizes seminars and company visits in Campus but very less students are able to get a job through that. However they provide us information about various internship options and sometimes help students to get internships in various companies through their connections.

Our college encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities by conducting various social services, blood donation camps, educational and recreational tours. There are NCC, NSS units along with Youth service club to provide training to students to serve nation and world. There are many societies and clubs formed which conduct events and competitions to increase confidence of students and provide a platform to show hidden talents. Seminars and conferences are organized to enhance knowledge of students. Various festivals are also celebrated in the college during the year.

The Campus buildings are old and require renovation. There are 2 cafeterias that provide hygienic and delicious food at affordable prices. The college has 3 sports complexes within the campus and well equipped laboratories for practical purposes. Although the furniture is not furniture and required replacement. It has big library having many books and journals to refer to. There are separate hostels for girls and boys which are clean and spacious. The Campus is Wifi enabled but the internet connectivity is not good.
