From the one who experienced it all at IBS Gurgaon

I heard positive feedback from the Alumni of the college. I was also in touch with current students who enlightened me about the positives and the negatives of the college. Also, the admission process was very smooth and aspirants were given the flexibility to choose the dates for the interview at the Hyderabad campus. Reason why I choose this college was mainly due to the feedback of the faculty, the guest lectures that I went through on different social media platforms and various other activities that the college invested into for overall personality development of the students.

In my opinion the faculty of IBS Gurgaon played a very vital role in building the overall personality of the students. Most of the faculty members and Phd holders, also some faculty members have industry experience which has helped the students relate the curriculum to the industry and provide solutions on the same. The case study based approach is also one thing that has actually helped the students prepare for the real time problems and get ready for the industry. ICFAI invests a lot in case studies and have a separate case study development wing which makes sure that the case studies included in the curriculum are always updates and focus on giving more exposure to the students.

The college focuses a lot on Internships. Companies like EnY, Siemens, Jindal Steels are some of the big names that are regular to the college for internships. Most the companies also offer stipend for the internship period which is of 3 months. The college also conducts a best internship award for all the students. Winners of the same gets a scholarship from the college.

Placements are good. The college has a separate cell that looks to make the process better every year. Companies like Amazon, CBRE, Trebor Hotels, EnY, KPMG, Mazars, ITC are regular recruiters of the college. The highest package was provided by 15 Lakhs by amazon which recruited 11 students. The placements starts from 3rd semester. The students have to clear a minimum criteria to be eligible for the placements.

The fee of the college is increased by approximately 5-7% every year. The total fee is currently INR 7.5 lacs for the entire 2 years. The college also helps the students get study loans from banks (They have a separate team for the same). They also hold a competition i.e IBSAT (Best internship award), the winners get a scholarship and an opportunity to submit the internship report at the national level competition. The college thus have some basic criteria to qualify for the placement process. Good companies visit the college for internship and placements. Most of the companies coming for internship gives stipend. The maximum stipend (INR 20000) was provided by Siemens Financial service in the year 2018.

The college conducts a lot of fests. They have various clubs which focus on various different aspects of the industry like, business development cell, Internship cell and placement cell. All the classrooms are equipped with screen for presentations.

We had proper GD and PI rounds before the admission. On the basis of these rounds different campus are allotted to the students. Generally, the topics for group discussion revolves around current affairs that are in talks at that point of time. I prepared by going through the most common GD topics of the year and going through the current affairs in the newspaper.
