Over all its good. Alvas College gives qualify education.

Entrance Preview

Face to face interview, Alvas College is very good for education and other cultural Activities. Sports and other curricular activities also supported.

Course Curriculum Overview

It was very good experience. Stood in hostel for 3 years. Education is quality and valuable one. Biotechnology was a good course in Algae college, Moodbidri.

Internships Opportunities

Internship was not there but we all went for projects to Info American Hybrid Seeds, Bangalore. And went to study tour. Trips related to botany field was go0d.

Placement Experience

Good opportunities. In fact for job fest more than 75 companies lined up and in Accenture , Bangalore, 20 people got in. Biotin production area qc opportunities for boys,were there.

College Events

In Algae college every year many cultural programs wil be there. In December Alvas Virasath, in Feb Alvas Nudisiri , and also Ekalavya sports day wil be there

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structures are good . It was feasible. 33000 rupees per year admision feasible. 10000 rupees hostel fees for entire year. Monthly 900 to 1300 ruppees mess bill.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes. For those who score above 90 % full year education free. And also hostel facility free. And also few below poverty line students also get some discounts on fees.

Campus Life

Campus is too good. Along with studies always there was a strong support by Alva management. National and state level competitions were strongly supported.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel environment is too good. Mess food also good. Wardens are good. Study hour use to be there . In time use to be very strict with attendance. Everyday prayer was there.

External Expense: Rs. 4000 - Rs. 7000

Alumni/Alumna

Alumini network is good, all are on regular mobile network. Lectures are in touch with alumni batch. Our seniors were too good humorous and helpful. Alumini interaction was good.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is good. Lecturers take unit test, surprise tests etc. On time notes check. Daily questions about lesson.

Faculty

Faculty was very good with thorough knowledge about the subjects. Lab facility was good with required equipment. College timings and subject coverage was good.

excellent in acedimics

Course Curriculum Overview:

1.I was very much intrested to be a scientist when i choose biochemistry because its one of excellent bioscience subject to pursue the carrier as good scientist and complete the phd in bio science field 2.I would say for further acedmic carriculum like to pursue phd and to complete bioscience related competative examination will be clear by just following acedimics but am not saying it will prepare for you to a real world . 3.teaching methods is excellent as i mentioned earlier but problem is they only stick to acedmics apart from that they didnt prepare for real world problem job getting moto that is problem 4.exams level of difficulty is mediatory not high or not low as of my knowledge but other say it very difficult exams nobody able to score more than 70%.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Food and nutrition articles in newspaper made me to take this course. As it had full scope in that time. Actually curriculum is very poor in preparing us for real world application. Practical session must include more of industrial visits and projects related to industry. We had enough time to study .

My Experience: The good and the Bad

Course Curriculum Overview:

I liked this biotechnology course in degree(Bsc) and i wanted to continue this course with higher studies. Hence this university is reputed one in Karnataka.. i choose this one and I got the seat and I am very happy for this. The teaching methods are really good but it depends on particular lecturers, how they teach .. For main sem exam the time was around 3 hours for 70 marks and it was moderate and can be manageable

Our college provide very fantastic placements , in every year they invited two or three companies in our college to get placements us.In last semester the students are eligible for for campus placements.Shilpa biological industry, biocon industry both company are offered the placement in last year. they told they provide highest packages 800000 rupees per year and averages 400000 per year . In our department , 2 to 3 students are getting palcements. after i completed my degree , i want to research so i admitted in phd programmes.

The curriculum is fairly distributed among the 2 years. The first year broadly covers the course work, and learning of the laboratory techniques. Followed by a mini project and a major project under a professor of interest. Stem cell biology always intrigued me and this course offered exactly what I want. The curriculum focuses on training students very rigorously to make them fit for harsh conditions and situations in the real research world.

Course Curriculum Overview:

They provide good curriculum and better syllubus which covers most of the geology and oceanography topics especially physical and chemical oceanography, climatology, hydro geology and other topics but practically they seems little back they doesn't provide new instruments for surveying and oceanography they still following old techniques which is not relevantly used in this time
