Prabhat Kumar College - My heart

The classrooms are of good size. There is enough teacher in our college. So many facilities are available in the college campus central library, computer facility, seminar hall, guest house, hostel. Statistics of results are also very good. The college offers financial assistance to the financially weak and meritorious students from students’ aid fund. Usually, students from the BPL families are provided with this aid. However, students who are meritorious yet do not belong to BPL families also receive such aid if the Students’ Aid Fund Committee deems it fit. It is primarily generated out of the Tuition Fees collected by the college. The college has two Common Rooms, separately for boys and girls. The Girls’ Common Room is located next to the staff room of the teachers whereas the Boys’ Common Room is situated on the second floor of the main building. Both common rooms have been developed with such indoor games facilities as carom, chess, table tennis, cards, etc. There are books, magazines.

The Department of English of the college is one of the oldest ones having completed fifty years of Honours Teaching. The department has a glorious past and a very enthusiastic and enlivening present. It bristles with ‘untamed’ youth that manifests itself in diverse forms. A vibrant academic and cultural ambience and a very warm and cordial teacher-pupil relationship have always been and hopefully will be the distinguishing feature of the department. ICT Enabled Classroom, Seminar Library, State-of-the-art Language Laboratory Wall Magazine (Talking Tree). A Gold centred silver medal and a silver medal will be awarded to two regular students securing highest marks in English (Hons.) and English (Gen.) respectively in final degree examination.

The Career Counselling and Placement Cell of the college is meant for providing guidance to the students to develop their overall personalities and help them meet challenges in their life. The cell provides a good and conducive setting to the students so that they can identify what and how they can opt for to get themselves marketable in future. The cell has been ever active in motivating the students to become career-oriented. After getting my degree I want to continue MA from the college.

The fees can be affordable for the students like us who belong to the middle-class family. We can also get Vivekananda merit cum means scholarship while studying in BA.

The college uses to conduct a variety of tournaments throughout the year, and egg on the students to energetically participate in them. The college also motivates the students to participate in inter-college competitions, organized by the concerned affiliating university. Needless to say, our emphasis on games and sports has earned us a lot of medals and trophies. Acharya J. C. Eco-club Eco Club has been formed in the college with a view to perform an important role in fostering ecological awareness amongst the future generation. It has been a podium where we acquire information regarding environmental matters. It renders the students to be responsive towards environmental concern to embark upon environmental problems. The club organizes programs and activities to egg on all the stakeholders of the college to grow a green consciousness in themselves.
