Remarks
Eastern Institute for Integrated Learning in Management (Kolkata) has an excellent reputation as a Business School in Eastern India. The Institute has also received a huge number of accolades and awards for providing the best training and placement to the students and making them industry-ready. The institute has a record of giving placement to 100% of the enrolled students. The classrooms are spacious, the teacher to student ratio is very good, and even during the pandemic, the professors have taught the students regularly. Any doubts, whatsoever arising, are always solved by the professors, and they can be contacted anytime for solving the doubts. The admission process was streamlined and always based on merit. I personally scored above the Cut-off marks required in the entrance examinations of CAT, MAT, and XAT. After the initial clearing of cut-off marks, extensive interview rounds by the professors are taken to properly make sure the efficiency of the student.
Internships Opportunities
EIILM Kolkata is the only college which provides two internships during the MBA curriculum, Winter and Summer Internship programs. During the internships, a large number of companies come to the college such as PayTM, Pantaloons, Shopper's Stop, The Week, Future Generali Life Insurance, and many other reputed MNCs and FMCG companies. The companies hire the students as Marketing, Finance, or HR interns. almost all the internships are paid internships with stipends ranging from Rs 5000 to Rs 10000 per month. The real-life practical knowledge gained during the internships is valuable to be used by the students in their later corporate lives. After the completion of the internship, a concise project report is to be prepared, which is then to be presented by the students and evaluated by internal and external evaluators.
Placement Experience
The students are eligible for campus placements right from the end of the second semester. Also if the students perform well in the winter internship program during the first semester, they are also given pre-placement offers by the company. Each and every student are given multiple offers from various company such as ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank, PayTM, Dabur, Nestle, Britannia, Pantaloons, Shopper's Stop, and others. Each department gets multiple companies. The highest package ranges from 15-20 LPA and the average package is 5 LPA. EIILM Kolkata has the reputation of providing placements to about 100% of the students. After completing my MBA in Human resources, I Plan to join the construction industry as a Human Resources manager, so that I can apply my technical knowledge to evaluate the candidates, both as a Civil Engineering graduate and as an HRM professional.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure of the college is flexible and convenient for students. The college also provides loan facilities to the students who want to avail them. The total cost for the MBA program is Rs 5,29,000/- for two years. Scholarships are also available for the students who have to apply according to their merit. The college also provides paid summer and winter internships. EIILM Kolkata provided paid internship worth Rs 5000/- per month at Shopper's Stop even during the pandemic. The college provides its students with jobs from reputed companies like Dabur, Nestle, ICICI Bank, Britannia, Indusland Bank, PayTM to name a few. Financially weaker candidates are also given priority while awarding scholarships. There are no sudden fees hike by the college. I received Winter Internship for two months at the reputed company of PayTM, for which I was properly groomed and trained by the placement department.
Campus Life
The cultural activities including the tech fest an annual fest are organized with great seriousness at EIILM Kolkata. For the newly oriented batch, there is a program called 'Uttoron Euphoria" which consists of various competitions such as "Poster making and presentation", "Quiz Contest", "Just A Minute", Drawing and drama competition. The winners and participants are awarded official certificates and medals. The fresher's program is also organized in a huge way with celebrities. The library of the campus is seemingly infinite with a large number of books and their references. Each book is available in several copies. The classrooms are fully equipped with comfortable individual desks, with full air conditioning and projector facilities. There are several inter and intra college sports competitions throughout the year, especially during the winter session. Several informative clubs such as Management Club, Investment Clubs are there, where students participate actively.
Interview Experience
The admission process consisted of extensive rounds of group discussions and personal interviews with several faculties of the college. The admission process consisted of an admission test called VUMAT, but I crossed the required cut-off marks in MAT (85.55%), CAT (76.95%), and XAT (86.33%) results. The GD and Interview questions were based on the Curriculum Vitae I submitted. As I mentioned in my CV, my interest being International Geopolitics and video games, the first question from the panel were about the change of geopolitical scenario of the world Post WWII to the present day. Another question was about the then-current economic scenario of India and how can I improve it. The interview process was very smooth and unbiased. I mainly prepared for the interview by rehearsing in front of the mirror and from watching Interview processes at YouTube.
