Entrance Preview
I took the GGSIPU CET and scored around 8000. I opted for this particular college because it was suitable for the rank I got.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is set by the University and is good. There are some subjects which are quite difficult and some are fairly easy to pass. There are a total of 6 subjects in the first semester, 6 again in the second semester and 6 in the third semester and 6 in the fourth semester and till the 6th semester. In the 7th and 8th semester - there are 4 and 3 subjects respectively.
Internships Opportunities
No, the college doesn't offer internship. However it offers a summer training program for a limited number of students.
Placement Experience
The placement was good in our year and it varies from year to year. Most of the students were placed in good companies like Infosys, Scope International, HCL, Cognizant etc. The placement cell of the college is well organised and is really helpful to all the students who approach it.
College Events
There is a major annual event which is called GATES. There are events all over the college during GATES. These events are organised by the various societies in college which are mentored by some senior teacher. Each event has a fixed hierarchy with an EM or an Event Manager, then come volunteers and others.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is, what is usually charged in engineering colleges across GGSIPU. It is also increased by 11000 every year. The fees may seem high to the students who enrolled late in the institute because of the yearly hike. Last year the fees was somewhere around 97000 for an year.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yeah the college offers a minority scholarship which can be availed only when you don't have any backlogs in that semester.
Campus Life
The gender ratio is even. There are a lot of good societies in college. One of my favorites was DLC or D' Lang Chaps. Then there is also the dramatics society. A lot of technical societies were also there, such as the TSG or Technical Society of GTBIT. There were a lot of events which occurred round the year, organised by different societies.
Hostel Facilities
There is no hostel facility available yet. So, there's no mess. But the canteen food is somewhat okay. The canteen is leased to private agencies who bid for it annually. The canteen food is okay but it can't be summed up at somewhat special. Easily the most famous or typical food on the canteen menu is Chowmein Samosa.
Alumni/Alumna
Yeah the senior students were really helpful and there's an alumni network started recently by the efforts of a senior teacher who's name is Mukesh Sahu.
Exam Structure
The exam structure is very hectic because in a span of 3 months of working days, there are exams three times. First the sessional exams are held two times and then the finals are held. The finals are held in a place outside the college. Sometimes the exams are held in a really faraway place and you end up being in a fix because a lot of time is spent travelling.
Faculty
The faculty of the college is mostly from the Sikh community being a college setup with special reservation for Sikhs both in the faculty and in the students. As is the case with nearly all the colleges, some of the faculty is really really good and know their subjects while some of the teachers are not so good.
