Remarks

If have to take an impartial opinion about IIBS, I would say it has met most of my expectation. At the same time, there is always scope for betterment. I hear IIBS is ranked somewhere 3rd in Placement Ranking. As an IIBS alumnus, I would love to hear it progressing to 1st in future.

Entrance Preview

I primarily come from an engineering background. Naturally, higher education in engineering would have been my choice. But I wanted to add a managerial qualification. Therefore, opted for an MBA through Common Entrance Test. Because my KMAT (conducted by affiliate universities in Karnataka) score was higher, I got to choose IIBS as my campus. The admission procedure was smooth and easy with only an interview session with selection board. And, it really turned out to be worthwhile doing my MBA from IIBS.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I personally found the syllabus relevant and up-to-date. IIBS adopts a curriculum as decided by the recognized universities like Bangalore, Mysore and Bharathiar. I feel it is important in preparing industry-ready graduates. This timely adjustment provides students a syllabus that is relevant and practical.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, Internship Training is an integral part of IIBS MBA course. Each student is encouraged to undertake summer internship in their choice of companies. IIBS’ close contact with companies such as Reliance, Birla Sun life, Bajaj Allianz, Amazon, HDFC, Aircel, HSBC, Indiabulls makes it easier to find projects for Internship Training. More than the stipend it is the exposure that we get out of such training which comes handy during job interviews.

Placement Experience

5

IIBS has an enviable track-record of placement. It has good corporate-connect and invites well-known companies to conduct campus recruitment.Reliance, Birla Sun life, Bajaj Allianz, Amazon, HDFC, Aircel, HSBC, Indiabulls are some of the companies to have visited IIBS for campus selection. On the salary front, IIBS graduates have had offers ranging from a minimum of Rs. 4 lakhs to Rs. 63 lakhs. It was through IIBS Placement Initiative that I got placed in a good company.

College Events

4.5

IIBS is one of the most happening campuses. Throughout the academic session, students get to participate in numerous activities – events like Surface (cultural festival), Adventure Learning, International Tour, Industrial Visit, Alumni Meet, and Corporate Training provide students with enough exposure to develop their overall personality. I must say these activities made me a more confident individual.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I found the fees to be student-friendly and affordable. Given the top-notch learning facilities, the cost of Rs. 600000 towards tuition fees is quite reasonable. As far as additional expenditure towards hostel accommodation, uniform, placement, library & alumni membership too are economically priced. An MBA from IIBS is worth investing in.

Fees and Financial Aid

To my knowledge, IIBS does not offer any student-specific loans. But, it is committed to honor meritorious students with monetary assistance. In special cases where a candidate, despite being highly studious, finds it difficult to support his studies, IIBS either on its own or charity would do everything to see such needs are taken care of.

Campus Life

4.5

It is without doubt IIBS is a vibrant campus. A well-balanced (more or less 1:1) male to female student ratio is kept in each of the academic sessions. There is hardly any discrimination as to caste or creed. It is an equal-opportunity campus providing universal access to management education. Add to this, there are extracurricular activities like Surface (cultural festival), Adventure Learning through outdoor activities in mountainous terrains, and participation in inter-college management festivals.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Homely – which is how I would describe IIBS hostel. Spacious cabinets and well-furnished rooms make student-stay peaceful and inspiring. And, you have a well-equipped mess that serves up healthy and delicious food. The best thing about IIBS food is that students get to eat their native dishes. Therefore, they need not forgo their favorite dishes just because they are away from their home.

Alumni/Alumna

It is wonderful to see IIBS Alumni getting connected with their almamater even after their graduation. I found IIBS Alumni Association to be resourceful network both to interact and learn. The opportunity to mingle with our seniors gave us confidence that we could also emulate their path. I would definitely recommend every IIBS graduate to be part of this noble tradition and keep mutually benefiting from it.

Exam Structure

IIBS follows a well-structured examination scheme. The two-year MBA Program is divided into 4 Semesters. The first two Semesters are meant to prepare students in general managerial subjects. In Third and Fourth Semesters, they get to choose electives of their choice. Progress to the subsequent semesters is decided on securing a certain percentage of aggregate marks.

Faculty

4.5

I would say that we are fortunate to have a faculty of learned individuals at IIBS. Their concern for attention to detail is something incomparable. They bring a well-balanced knowledge of theory as well as practical. Each of them a subject-matter expert in their own field, I would put them amongst the best in the academics.

Placement Experience:

Placements in the college are good for marketing specialization. Compared to other specializations, from semester 2 itself, students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like Deloitte, KPMG, ICICI Bank, and HDFC Bank visit the campus. The highest package this year was 40 LPA, and the average package is around 6.5 LPA. The percentage of students getting placed is 70% for now. After getting the degree, selection in a good company is my plan.

The average package offered is moderate and there are limited opportunities for high paying roles compared to top tier colleges. Companies that visit the campus are mostly small to mid sized organizations. The placement cell is very supportive and conduct training sessions such as aptitude tests, mock interviews and soft skills development to prepare students for placements.

Placement Experience:

Placement in my college is decent, wiyh around 90% of students are getting placed. Students usually become eligible for placement in their final year and the college provides internships opportunities before that, which helps in gaining experience. Many companies visit to campus mainly from marketing and sales, along with some roles in HR and operations. The number of offer is good but option for finance and analytic are comparatively limited.

I would like to rate the course 7 out of 10. Because as these is a distance learning many difficulties occur. I am doing a MBA in ksou after my graduation in b. Com. As ksou comes under UGT it is more helpful for the job seeker. As per my knowledge the faculty should conduct a more classes may be through online so that the working people can attend the classes from wherever they want. There are many distance learning courses in ksou academic platform but they are not handling in a accuracy.
