Thinlay Tseten Sherpa's Review On St. Xavier's College - [SXC], Kolkata

Education wise this college is among the best in the country and that is what a college is all about.

The course is a very disciplined one providing all the knowledge one needs to grow in this field. And about the campus recruitment I don't have any idea about what all will be discussed there as I am a first year student and I haven't really put my head into that but when time comes I will prepare myself according. And industrial visits are a must but I am not sure if our college does porvide anything as such to the students.

Our college provides one of the best placements in the state but at the same time one needs to be totally aware and prepared to be eligible to avail such placements.

There are many events celebrated in our college, most of them are connected to sports and the most grand event is that which is held in January called xav utsav, it is considered the best fest in the entire state and students and people from all over the city come to take part in the fest and enjoy.

The fees structure of our college is abit more expensive than other colleges in the state maybe it's because ours is not government bases. But the fees are based according to the course taken like for b.com the quaterly fee is 11.000 and for example another cours like sociology is only 4000.

I didn't not opted for any scholarship nor have I opted for an educational loan I am totally depended on my parents income for my college.

The students and the environment in our college is very diverse. There are students from all over the country and people really learn different cultures and help each other grow for better. There is absolutely no biasedness or partiality everyone is treated equally and rightfully.

Yes and I am a hostel student as of now and the hostel rooms are kept very clean and hygiene but the food is not really good the students don't have a like for the hostel food and depend outside mostly but the rest is absolutely fine.

The senior students are really very helpful as they provide you with all the notes and other necessary resources for you to fit well in the college. About the alumni I don't really have any idea about that.

I opted for this course as I am a commerce student and I want to do MBA later and doing this course will give me everything I need to later do MBA. St Xavier's College is considered to be the most decent and high ranked college in the state and also it is considered very prestigious to be studying in this college. For the admission process, once you have submitted your online application form which is the only mean to apply for this college and once you apply if your credentials are good enough for the college you will be further enlisted for an interview which will be after 2 days once you're shortlisted and then once you pass the interview you will have to go through all the payment and admission fee procedure.

The faculty of our college is very profeesional and they don't really discuss anything other than the book stuffs. The college teachers and students are both very disciplined and it's really very efficient that way. But at the same time if a student feels like having a problem with owns life, they can't talk to the teacher with it personally but for that there are mentors, psychologist and others for that part.
