Remarks
Decent. Not worse, not substantial, I do not think that the college has added exceptional to propel my experience or skills
Course Curriculum Overview
The course was around 80% theory and 20% practicals. Practicals mean lab work, fieldwork, research, internship. I would not say that BE studies where research-based. It was more of starting concepts quite elementary theory & sometimes boring. Subjects like mechanical and civil engineering with subjects Manufacturing practices in 1st yr for EC/CS/ET/IT student seems a waste. In maths focus on the theory of calculus with no applicability, in language focus only on English and no other language, Engineering graphics were good but lacked design thinking.
Placement Experience
The internship was dreadful. finding one was all upon students. No support apart from a signed letter. After the internship , the evaluation was based on their submission. Campus: Back then TCS, Persistent, and 4-5 more companies came dedicated college placements. Other companies visiting Medicaps was announced within the college, if it was the open campus. The process was fairly organized for the exchange of schedule, plan of the day, results. Of course, there was no time for empathy statements for those who did not clear campus interviews. I do not remember if college took effort or gave any direction to prepare students. Mostly the alumni of college tend to give information on "how things happen" if you are lucky to be in connect.
College Events
Annual Cultural Event Annual Tech Event Annual Sport Event Independence Day
Fee Structure And Facilities
396000 per year. Quarterly payments or per semester payments. In case of a troubling case, a request to HOD can be made for relaxation in the timeline. Apart from the Miscellaneous fee, another breakdown was fairly clear. No other payments.
Fees and Financial Aid
No such thing offered.
Campus Life
The gender ratio was 1:4 for girls and boys. No sign of sexual orientation. Welcomes different ethnicity, religion, and economic status. Did not feel any bias/difference when on campus. However, there was nothing done to imbibe the culture of respect for diversity and inclusion back then. The campus was shared with IPS Academy college and Architecture college and hence even when Engineering was not celebrating something we always were welcomed to join as viewers for roadshows from college students or art exhibitions from architecture students. Do not remember any dorm parties as such
Hostel Facilities
I did not opt for a hostel. But I visited the hostel with other classmates. The hostel was within the campus. Women hostel separate from men. Sharing rooms were available. The mess was walking distance from the hostel.
Alumni/Alumna
No platform for alumni connect. Also, there is no college event where this is planned. The only experience with alumni connect was my personal connection with few seniors during the final year and a year after for placements and job related like which city to work, what is expenses, are company offer and perks valuable for tier 1,2 cities, etc. It has been since 2007 that there is no further connection.
Admission
Post PET results, I applied to a couple of universities within Indore for any of the two courses - CS or EC. The top being GSITS, Vaishnav, Medicaps, and IES. My entrance exam result was 62(ish)% with which I could land into only IES and not in CS but in EC.
Faculty
Every day 5-6 hourly lectures for 6 days a week. The average age around 35 yrs+ with the qualification of M.E. In my view except for engineering graphics, others were average or below average. I am not aware of if lecturers held any relevant industry-experience or certifications then. Not that student was made aware of an informal manner.
