A wonderful 2 years experience

Excellent college management, all staffs were cordial and very literate, very punctual and polite. A high class institute with well maintained infrastructure and facilities with faculties with rich experience of knowledge always willing to share. Faculties not only teaches but also they behave in friendly manner during parties or sports or any other events.

Took CAT Entrance examination in 2007 and scored 98.4 percentile. The total admission process was based on Statement of Purpose (SOP) and the CV/Biodata that was submitted, started with GD followed by interview. The GD was about 12 minutes and interview went for 15 minutes, it was a wonderful experience during interview sitting in front of very learned faculties. I wrote in CV that I love singing and they asked me to sing a Bengali song (Rabindrasangeet) and then asked me to translate the meaning of the song. The interviewees were very cordial and jovial and it was not at all a stress interview

The course structure is very compact with each semester of 3 months having 8-9 subjects during 1st year, the 1st year is all about general management starting from Marketing, Finance, Systems, Operations, OB, Economics, Business Ethics, Law, etc. The 2nd year is little bit smooth where you need to choose electives based on some numbers per subject. If it crosses a certain limit, then you are doing major in that, else minor. I had major in Marketing, Systems and Opertaions

Yes, it provides internship, majority of the companies are from the corporate world consisting of banking sector, financial sector, IT, FMCG, Operations, etc. The stipend was really good, e.g., 20-25 K per month. Companies like P&G, ITC, ICICI, SBI, Goldman Sach, etc. are few to name

100% placement within 3 days. Total batch of 186. Minimum CTC was 8 Lakh and maximum was 35 lakh. Companies like Marico, Proctor & Gamble, Genpact, VIP, Microsoft, SBI, ICICI, IOCL, HPCL, SAIL, TCS, Infosys, ITC, etc. are to name a few. Total 45 companies came for placement approx.

All kinds of co-curricular activities including festivals, diwali, puja, onam, pongal, different types of sports were held within the campus. It was not a campus but a resort you can say. The sight was really wonderfiul and cannot be expressed in words, the total campus was built over a hill top and all kinds of events and celebrations done within the campus only

During 2007-2009, the total expense was something around 8.5 Lakhs which has increased manifold now. Tuition fee per semester was something around 75000 plus other miscellaneous expenses. Definitely for a premium institute like IIMs, the fee structure is on the higher side but it is feasible

All types of banks come to the campus and give their presentation and offer their best rate for loan and the student council after discussing with all students generally choose one particular bank for that year from whom everyone avail the loan. No co-lateral security was required for availing this loan just because of reputation of the institute

Hectic life with full entertainment, party at night starts at 1 AM and ends at 5 AM, and next day, we attend classes in the morning. 70:30 is the gender ration for M:F.No discrimination on politics or sex or religion. Different clubs were created, some for IT related, some for different domain related like Marketing,Systems, Finance, etc. Seniors used to act as mentors and all types of extracurricular activities were held like drama, song, dance, etc. Inter & Intra campus competitions werealso held

Excellent hostel rooms and facilities with washing machine, well maintained, fully secured with security staff, well lit environment and each hostel has their separate common room for indoor games. Food quality was also excellent but has to be seasoned with South Indian style

Very strong network all across the world, everyone share their experience in their current company and also share job openings if any. Every year, a get together was held with alumnis and newly joining students in all metro cities

Exam structure is very compact. Each subject and its faculty decides their style of marking, for Class Participation some weightage given, surprise quizzes held every week, exam can be open or closed book, can be case studies or theories or practicals. It was never a chilled out situation and was very hectic as for majority of the times, we are supposed to present a case study analysis at 8 AM in the morning and the case study of 12-15 pages was sent by the faculty at 12 midnight

While filling the form for CAT exam, we had to enter the institutes for which applying and based on score, we generally get calls from institutes vide Call Letter through email as well as Courier, wherein SOP was there which we need to fill and send along with admission fee. Notification released in December and exam was in Jan, administration was very nice and excellent.

We are really very small in terms of the rich experience the faculties have. No words can describe the quality of the faculties, they are GOD in their own subjects/domain and they really grow within us interests about the subjects, the methodology being PPT and case studies
