My course is totally based on research as it is M.Sc. Biotechnology. We have practical period 3 days a week and if we need to spend more periods in labs we can directly go to the concern faculty and asks for permission, then we easily gets the permission. The research scholar also help us if we need any help from them. We learns practical skills during labs lectures which will definitely helpful for us in future during our dessertation and phDs. My faculties are also very helpful, they solves our every problems. Course examination include following Test 1 of 20 marks Mid Semester exam of 20 marks Test 2 of 20 marks In our result either marks of test 1 or test 2 is included. And an external examination of 60 marks. We get results in CGPA There were plans for industrial visit, but we could not go for it because of corona crisis.

The students from our department usually do not opt for job in industry because it is research oriented course and almost all student pursue PhD, that is why there no regular visit of companies. However, our University has a placement cell if we need.

Fee structure is feasible and obviously we are provided monthly stipend which also covers the hostel expenses. My course fee is Rs. 3810/- + Rs.4000 /- for 1st year of which Rs. 2000 is refundable caution money. Rs. 3810 has to be deposited online through University website and rest Rs.4000 to be deposited in department account via RTGS, NEFT. And Rs. 1810 for 2nd year which will be submitted online through University website.

Campus life is full of experiences and joy. We have a very big campus with 2 big grounds and some small gardens where we spends extra time with friends. The lab time are also full of enjoyment and experience. The gender ratio of our department is 1.5 female for every 1 male. Students are from all cast and many religions and from different class of families.

Yes, I opted for hostel and I got a hostel seat, it is not sharing. However the no. of hostel seats are limited according to whole University, but students from our department easily get seat in hostel because students in our department are from different states and our entrance is national level based. The food from mess is not that good in terms of taste but we can eat it, but we don't provided food on Sunday night so we have to arrange from ourselves, thanks to nearby food stalls and restaurants so do not need to go so far.

Yes, our seniors are really helpful almost in every situation. Whenever we needs their help they are always available.

First I appeared in JNU-CEEB entrance exam. After entrance I got selected to fill in the counselling form. Then I filled counseling form in which I had to make a decision to choose the universities and make a list of preference out of 33 Universities. My preference were based on following 1. Best University 2. Minimum distance from my hometown 3. Minimum fees So, I filled in the counseling form with 10 Universities according to my preference in which University of Allahabad was at 4th preference. In counseling I got selected for University of Allahabad. Then I took admission in this University.

The no. of faculties available in our department is 3 at present and 3 seats are vaccant. All the available faculties are highly qualified and great experience in research. Prof. M. P.
