Anusha Malpani's Review On AMC Dental College, Ahmedabad

I was trying for MBBS, but my rank in Gujarat for NEET was 3027, which opts out every MBBS college for the general seat. I chose dental, and luckily I got admission in A.M.C. which is an Ahmedabad Municipality Corporation driven College. Our Patient flow is very high, and we also have a seperate hospital and college campus unlike other colleges.

Unlike most dental colleges, our college always has the latest equipment for patients and our clinics start from 3 year too. Private colleges don't have clinics for their students because they hardly have any patients. It's around 40-100 per day, while our college has 600-1000 patients per day. The college is bursting with patients all around. A.M.C. is a luck pot for whoever gets admission here.

Our college has compulsary internship in the college itself. Around 1 month is rotation where we are sent to some other hospital like LG, NHL, etc. For my batch the payment for internship would be 1.8 lac/annum

As we are B.D.S. students, a lot of people start their own clinics after graduations, or join their parents who are already doctors in the same field. A few of the students start preparing for NEET PG to get admission for M.D.S.

We do have celebrations for each festival. Also college annual fest is organised once every year which has a lot of events including sports, cultural events, food making competitions. Apart from that we also have seminars in our college, and also outside from other colleges or doctors.

Ebc(Annual income less than 6lac/annum) students can avail 50% off or 2 lac less per annum scholarship, whichever is lower as per the government youth scholarship programmes. Also you can avail special reservation scholarships. The college doesn't have a particular scholarship of it's own, bit qll the scholarships which come under the Gujarat University work with our college.

There are 8 different clinical departments in our college, with each department having around 50 dental chairs. PGs and teachers have their own dental chairs. Even for preclinical our labs are well equiped and provide the most exposure to students.
