Remarks
If only they owned up the alumni, a lot of things could have been better.
Entrance Preview
CAT with 94.5 percentile. I chose this college because at the time this was one of the best options in this percentile. Other options were nirma and imt Nagpur but given that both this one is located in delhi, it gives an opportunity for better options for live internships during in parallel to the study.
Course Curriculum Overview
Excellent curriculum with a view to keep current while covering the basics in any given area. The curriculum was a mix of books and more focus was always on case studies.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are through industry placement. Since the industry connect is not very strong, the internship placements are also weak. This leads to almost 50% of the students fending for themselves. Stipends at my time were around 5000.
Placement Experience
At our time, we had almost 90% people placed. However, again due to lack industry connect, there are challenges and creates a bit of a panic situation towards the end. But overall the experience was ok. Average package at the time - 5-6 lacs. At the time, it was ok but I guess now with the increase in batch size it may have become a problem.
College Events
Technical events every week in the form of anubhooti. This was a industry connect lecture with some experience folks coming in and giving their insights on how the industry functions .. other than that annual festival jubilate has all kinds of events over 3 days. Then there used to be area specific conclaves for hr, marketing, operations and finance.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure was quite feasible with 4.5 lacs in education fees and about 1.5 in hostel fees. Hostel was optional and students could choose to stay outside if they felt uncomfortable with the facilities on offer.
Fees and Financial Aid
Toppers used to get 100℅ and 50℅ scholarship. Though I would not know what that would feel like. In hindsight it must have been a good feeling not having to pay the tuition fees and also hence not having to pay back any loan at the start of your career. Apart from that there are no programs for students from poor background.
Campus Life
Gender ratio is quite decent this is mainly because of the location being south Delhi and the college not being residential. Lots of smart girls from South campus end up here for their MBA. Apart from that the obvious bunch is there with a decent mix of people from all parts of the country.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel is not owned and run by the college. They have tied up with a couple of third party service providers in katwaria sarai. Since the hostel is not run by the college, there is not much control on what goes on and the kind of facilities provided. This has its good and bad things obviously.
Alumni/Alumna
That's the worst part if the college the college doesn't do much for the alumni and the alumni doesn't like to reciprocate. Alumni connect are a mere hogwash and there is hardly any outreach from the college towards us.
Exam Structure
Trimester system. Very hectic exam structure almost every month had a very gruelling exam. Lots of exams and lots of case studies. Quite a bunch of marks for class participation. Great structure overall with lots of emphasis on value based curriculum. Economics study was a bit left wing but that may have just been the particular faculty.
Admission
Admission process is that post the cat score, they send a confirmation with a date for gd and interview. Gd generally has 10-12 people with common current news topics to discuss. Interview also is pretty straightforward without much out of the box stuff.
Faculty
Faculty of this college is almost comparable to fms or imt since most of the faculty here is either visiting faculty from here to there or vice versa. Very experienced faculty which helps in great anecdotes from their experience. Overall great faculty with lots of practical insights.
