Remarks
This is the only state government college in Jharkhand and is a premier institute with glorious past established in 1949. The best branch is Mechanical Engineering and is well known throughout World. It has best available resources, abundant land and best alumni base that lays a strong foundation for the college. It's placement is also very good with average of 4.5 lakh per annum package and highest of 10.11 lakh with about 60% students getting placed. The college has huge number of club and society for overall development of the students.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum was initially affiliated to Vinoba Bhave University and now it is affiliated to Jharkhand University of Technology, Ranchi from 2018 which is completely upgraded and provides industrial exposure. The faculties are really well renowned who have studied from various IITs and NITs.
Internships Opportunities
I interned in Evidyut pvt. Ltd. as a mechanical engineering designer with a stipend of RS. 1500 per month.
Placement Experience
BIT Sindri offers BTech in 10 specialisations including Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgy, Production, Chemical, ECE, Civil, Mining, CSE and IT. The institute has an active Training and Placement Cell which works round the clock to secure lucrative job opportunities for its students. As per the placement record of 2018-19, 318 students got placed in various companies. The highest salary package of Rs 10.12 LPA was bagged by a BTech in Mechanical student. Top companies such as Tata Hitachi, Tata Steel, Aditya Birla Group and Wipro visit the campus to recruit students.
College Events
The campus life is awesome. We all really enjoy it to full. It is no less than oyr 2nd home. Various technical, cultural events and fests are always organized by various club throughout the year. Many events are if national level and we see huge and enthusiastic participation.
Fees and Financial Aid
Every 1st two toppers of the branch are offered scholarship of 1.6 lakh. Loans are readily given by SBI BIT Sindri branch.
Campus Life
Initially the infrastructure was very poor but our new director Mr. D.K. Singh has really grommed the infrastructure and given it a new face. We have sports facilities, gym although it is not in a good condition, a large central library that accommodates around 50,000+ books on courses and all the labs are well equipped with the facilities especially mechanical has labs that are really well equipped and has various equipments that are not available throughout India in any of engineering institutions. The only thing that the campus lacks is wifi facility whose work is in progess and shall be installed shortly.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel is very well groomed and modified to accommodate students with ease. The rooms are quite big and is offered to 5 students in 1st and 2nd year then 2 students ain 3rd year and 1 student in final year per room. The cost is quite nominal of 10,000 per year for hostel and is easily available. Although students entering through D2D are offered hostels after 2nd year.
