College to remember.

Good college over all and a lot of good memories four good years of my life with little ups and downs over all a roller coaster ride.

I took Karnataka examination authority (K.E.A) conducted yearly examination i.e Common entrance test (C.E.T) on the year 2009 and back when i studied the total marks was 180 in which all were multiple choice questions and objective aptitude and i secured 79 marks out of 180 and my c.e.t rank was 10505. I opted this college as i wanted a decent college undet VTU university and this college was falling under my rank category and comparitivly good review and reputation and good placements in list of colleges in bangalore.

Good faculty and good infrastructure ,but lab facilities could have been more improved and placement cell was not trained and had no experience in placing students before . AS we faced a lot of difficulties as already placed students were the ones repeatedly getting placed and no organized step was taken to filter out placed and non placed students who were eligilbe for placements (60% above in engineering).

No internship or stipend was provided in my college time (2009-2013) In second year they had taken us for industrial visit that was the maximum they spent on us.

I had 70% throughout engineering and had got off campus placements as the placement cell was not trained and had no experience in placing students before . AS we faced a lot of difficulties as already placed students were the ones repeatedly getting placed and no organized step was taken to filter out placed and non placed students who were eligilbe for placements (60% above in engineering). P.S : only good thing they did was conducted amcat examination for all students by spending 750 rs , in which i performed well and through that got calls from various mnc and got placed in off campus.

SWAYAM , annual social and cultural festival of MVJ College of Engineering is a platform for all students of engineering colleges from Karnataka and other states to contend, showcase and prove their excellence in extracurricular activities. It was conducted each year and apart from that in the new auditorium hey conducted few paper presentations and other similar technical events.

Initial years it was little moderate as the infrastructure and management kept changing they started charging 5-10 thousand extra in the name of management and development fees where as according to k.e.a no such fees have to be collected. But at the end of the day we had no other option other than paying the fees and getting our degree without any problem.

From college side no loan was offered . only scholarships was given by government side for lower caste people and minority category students. other than that no preference and about scholarship provided for poor students according to my knowledge not a single student had availed scholarship from college end the management was only interested in money and nothing else.

As i was from computer background i didn't participate in any such events but yes they did have a robotics event and other such competitions , as a matter of fact mvj college had a good sports faculty and good cricket and throw ball team and also my friend won gold medal in wrestling and many other events are organised very often.

Please don't prefer college hostel as it is living hell to much rules and no fun and the food was below average and the hostel wardens imposed their frustration and distress over college going students and since i stayed in hostel for first two years I know how mcuh difficulties i had to face just to go out to roam on weekend (without guardian permission it will not happen) Time restrictions everyday ( we need to reach back to hostel premises before 8:30 pm).

The MVJCE Alumni Association is a formally registered body. Membership is automatic upon completion of courses under any programme at the MVJCE campus, they are helpful to an extent.

WE had all the same structure as that of V.T.U university. that is 3 internals .In a week 3 hours of lab and 2 lab internal ( one mock and one official) and one external exam which was conducted by university and the paper was tough. Total of two lab and six subjects in each semester.

I had to pay 28799 dd for k.e.a that is the fees for every individual who avails through government seat and after going with the recipt issued by k.e.a , if we submit that recipt the college has certain fees to be collected and it is not a tedious process , just two DD(demand draft ) for 15000 ( back in 2009) on venkateswara education society and devlopment fees.

Good and experienced faculty with will to teach I am a computer science graduate and i felt more practical concepts were not taught and all industry standards preparation and event were not organized i can tell as a negative feedback. over all good college and decent faculty.
