Amazing college.

Overall environment of the college is very enthusiastic. You love to go to college regularly because of the atmosphere, facilities, faculties, etc. In VGEC, scholars from every parts of Gujarat come to study and widen their knowledge.

12th Science, Gujarat Board and GUJCET. I scored 90.80% in 12th Science and I opted this college because I did some research about colleges and I found VGEC most promising and placements records were also good. There is no interview for admission, just percentage of 12th is required.

The course is very well balanced. In first year, we have been taught common subjects for all the branches and in rest 3 years particular to Electronics and Communication. In 4 years, I learned C, C++, Basic Electronics, Advanced Engineering Mathematics, Circuits and Networks, Digital Electronics, Electrical Machines, Electronic Devices and Circuits, etc. subjects in very detail.

Placement records of ECE, CE, IT, MECH are very good. Almost every student in these branches get placed. For campus placement, Infosys, Igate, TCS, WIPRO, L&T, Tech Mahindra etc. big companies came. The offer for these companies varies from 3.1 Lakhs PA to 5 Lakhs PA. For IT companies packages varies from 3.1 Lakhs to 3.5 Laksh and for rest you can expect till 5 Lakhs PA.

Every year there is cultural festival organized by students of BVM. In this event, students play drama, show dances and singing, etc. Overall it's a very nice event for enjoyment. For helping poor and needy, there is one group named 'Junoon', in which students teach poor children, give them better clothes and motivate them and their parents for studying and not doing labor work, so that their future can be bright. There is also techfest every year in which students from many colleges come and participate. There are various technical competitions like Robo War, Sudoku, Galaltic Trooper, Quantum code, etc.

Per year fees of VGEC is 6,000 INR. It is very less compared to many colleges in Gujarat and still you get best quality of teaching.

There is no scholarship but you can avail 'Student Fee Weaver' scheme in which you can get discount on fees on your financial background. There is no need of any scholarships, as fees are very nominal.

In my class there were around 35 boys and 25 girls. Campus life is very cool. Canteens are also very well maintained and you enjoy your campus life very much. The best part of campus life is there is no political group active here. So no drama in campus. All students come from varied background but most of them are from middle class and upper middle class only. There is fresher party every year for the first year students planned by second year students. There are also many cultural events organized in campus for the enjoyment of students. No need to worry about any kind of harassment in the campus as students are coming from very good background.

Hostel fees are 8,000 INR per year plus 1000 INR deposit. The facilities in hostel are very good. You get 24 hours water, no electricity cut longer than 10-15 minutes. Boys and girls hostels are seperate. Rector is also very strict, no outing beyond 10 PM. There are 2 messes and monthly charges are 1100 INR per month. Food quality is also very good and special fist on Fridays are awesome.

Seniors in VGEC are very helpful. They guide you in projects, which electives you should choose, doubts regarding any subjects. As a senior, I also taught many subjects to my juniors. The best part about VGEC is they are running internal coaching for GATE preparation, which helps you a lot for scoring in GATE. This coaching is run by faculty member and some genius students.

Exam structure is decided by GTU and it is common to every college under GTU. There is one internal exam and o0ne external exam (GTU final). Internal exam consists of 20 marks and 10 marks for internal. GTU final exam is of 70 marks, so total 100 marks. Final results come in grade system decided by university.

There is common admission process for students passed out in 12th science in L.D. Engineering college, Ahmedabad. The notification for this process was released 1 month after results were declared. So I went to L.D. Engineering college, Ahmedabad for taking forms and filled it. We have to select our interested branch and colleges from the list and fill it as per our preferred priority. During admission, we have to finally tell our final branch and college as per the availability. The staff is very supportive, they give us enough time to think and finally they enroll us in the college.

The faculty of VGEC college are very interactive in class. They take every course in detail and expalin you every minute details about the course. Most of the faculties have masters degree and many of them are Ph.D.s also. So you can expect in depth teaching of courses. The labs are also taken were seriously and they make you do every practicals, so you learn not only theory but also real world application of the same.
