Remarks

I would say those 2 years were the most memorable year of my life. If given a change I would definitely love to re-live those 2 years again.

Entrance Preview

CAT - 90 percentilem, IBSAT -85 percentile I opted for MBA over CA as MBA was much in trend those days and was relatively easy with higher success rate. While CA have large number of dropout/failure rates. Though I was good in studies but I don't wanted to take any risk so choose MBA over CA. Though there were some colleagues of mine who was doing both the courses together.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

IBS is known for its finance MBA because IBS has totally a different course ciruculam. The circulam is 100% based on case study method. For each class a specific case study is designed which is discussed in the classroom and students get marks for participating in the discussion. (60%) of your total MBA score is based on class participation students are expected to read the case study topics from the books and then discussion will take place on the application of concepts learned from the books.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, our college used to arrange for internship for each of the student unless he specifically give in writing to withdraw from sitting in internship process. More than 300 companies were listed on our college pannel who used to pick students for internship. Important to mention the companies were based PAN India the general stipend ranges around 10k. However the highest was 30k given by Dshaw.

Placement Experience

4.5

As in case of Intership, my college is know for providing 100% placement to students despite having a large batch of 830 students. I remember each of the student from my batch was placed unless he opted out from placement for his own reasons. Some of the companies who took students as Intern gave pre-placement offers to join the company post completion of the course. The package range if we talk about would range between Rs 4.5 lacs to Rs. 13 lacs with avg placememt of Rs. 7 lac companies coming for placement.

College Events

5

Freshers party - 3 day event, College Fest - 3 day event various societies organizing various events from time to time freshers party and college Fest are arranged at a big level with various sponsors coming in. Various events on different days. All days one or the other event going on and at night you can dance and have fun.

Fee Structure And Facilities

At my time it was Rs. 9.5 lacs for the entire course plus Rs. 1.5 lacs as hostel fee (compulsory) but the best part is that you can get scholarship in each semester for maximum Rs. 75000 per semester. The scholarship is given to top 25% students in the batch of 830 people.

Fees and Financial Aid

You can get scholarship in each semester for maximum Rs. 75000 per semester. The scholarship is given to top 25% students in the batch of 830 people. I availed 3 scholarship in first 3 semesters. In last semester I was more chilled and didn't bother to score well as was already a 8.5 pointer.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel facilities - 7/10 Each student will have 1 seperate room which is the best part. There are 5 buildings in total. 2 for girls and 3 for boys of this 1 boys and 1 girls building is a newly constructed one with toilets included in the room the old buildings have a common bathrooms but very neat and clean bathrooms also have one washing machine and there are n number of bathrooms (sufficient enough for each block under each building) Facilities include swimming pool, TT table, footbal ground, volleyball court, Indoor badminton court, Squash court.

Alumni/Alumna

Strong Alumni cell. Infact have one society which constantly keeps in touch with the Alumni and invite them for guest lectures the management itself is very active and arrange one programme every year in a hotel and invite Alumni from all over the parts of the world to attend the programe.

Exam Structure

As already mentioned above 60% of the course marks are based on class participation and 40% based on test conducted after each semesters. In total there were 5 semester (1 whole semester includes Internship) Ist year will be very hectic and all the day students will be found in library preparing for various case studies planned for next day classes. (Group studies would help in that case) Ist year onward it becomes very easy. You can have all fun in the college and hostel.

Admission

Admission process involves IBSAT entrance test which is an aptitude test and includes 4 section - Maths, Logical reasoning, GK and Grammer (English). Once you qualify in the test, you will be called for a presentation followed by an interview. The presentation to be given on any one of 5 topics given to you in call letter (topic will be decided by a draw). Thereafter it is followed by an interview which can go around anything from your schooling to college to any of your subject knowledge or any random GK question.

Faculty

4.5

We have a top class facility at our time in our college. All of them were PHD from reputes colleges. Some of the faculties after we left the college went to reputed colleges like ISB, Hyderabd , IIM's etc this can well explain the cadre of our teachers.

To settle in the good financial sector and to improve my skills. The student ratio is less in MBA courses. The faculty is less supportive. The faculty is well educated with Ph.D. and Doctraits, Method of teaching should be changed. There was no time for preparation for term exams. It was quite difficult to pass.
