4 Years of happy days.

I took EAMCET as the entrance examination. I secured 4846 rank statewide with a total of 113 out of 160 and was third student to take up E.C.E in Pragati College. Based on the reviews by many senior colleagues and placement opportunities in the previous years, I took the choice of joining this college. Good faculty was also a strong reason for me to opt this college.

No, There was no focus on research course structure was good as all the basics in Electronics were covered in the first year and later followed by advanced subjects in the later years. Also important computer programming languages like C and Java were taught in the first two years. Course structure was same that was prescribed by Kakinada JNTU.

No the college does not provide internship. We can say this is one major drawback for this college our college is not that much reputed in national level to provide internships.

The placements are not upto the mark. For our batch, Tata Consultancy Services(TCS) was only the notable big company which scheduled an on campus. And to our great disappointment, only 60 members got placed TCS offered a package of 3.3 lakhs per annum for the recruited candidates other company like Eftronics came but they recruited only 4 people overall, Job opportunities were not good for our batch.

Events are the greatest drawback for our college. We hardly had any cultural events in our college. Our friends often used to participate in events hosted by other colleges. Barring the third year where we had a annual day,cultural events were not conducted But, Technical events used to held for every stream once every year.

Expensive unless u are able for reimbursement in the form of FeeWaiver or other scholarships they charge 27000+ as the tution fee along with 8000 for College Bus they also charge 2500 as library fee. I heard it has gone much higher in the later years after I passed out.

No there is no scholarship provided by college U can reimburse the paid money via Fee waiver scheme or other scholarships college does not provide any scholarship or loan facility.

Campus life is good as it has a good Eco friendly environment with good playing ground the gender ratio is 1:1 there is not that much encouragement for extracurricular labs are good and there is good encouragement for sports workshops and debates happen at the time of technical events.

I haven't been in hostel as I was a daily scholar. But hearing from my friends, I can say its not preferable to stay in hostel. Its better to stay in a room outside than going for the hostel. Mess food is OK and its also expensive. A single chapathi costs u Rs.20/- which is way higher than the outside world. Also the quality of food is not upto the mark.

With the fear of ragging, our batch did not have that much interaction with our seniors. But our seniors came to us and they are friendly and helped us a lot in our job opportunities and hosting technical events on a final note, Seniors are very helpful.

No, Exams and labs were not hectic. Barring the first year where we had 5 labs per day, labs were only there for 2 days a week. Mid exams were conducted for every 2.5 months giving us ample time to prepare and lab internals were for every 3 months which was more than adequate.

Yes, I got admission in this college. There was no complicated admission process. After I opted for the college in the counseling which was held in July 2007 in Vishakapatnam, I directly went to the college in last week of August and filled up a small admission form which includes personal details and address.

I would give a score of 7/10 for the faculty. Main plus was that the basics in the first year were taught by well experienced professors which made our understanding the advanced concepts easier. On the negative side, there were junior professors who were not that much experienced and as a result we would have to focus more on reading the text books to hold a grip on the subject best Professors are Dr.Raghuram (taught Network Analysis,STLD), Mastani (taught EDC).
