I graduated in 2010 from CSE branch. Research is what VIT should be focusing on now. Centers like TIFAC-Core is a great place for research for Electrical & Electronics students but mostly focused on automotive and embedded systems. Even most of the students are not interested in research but rather just get some passing marks and a placement. I have heared that recently lot of brances at VIT have got ABET accredition and branches like SITE and SCSE now have tie ups with Universities like MIT and Stanford and companies like NI, Schneider Electric & Microsoft which can help the research oriented students a lot.
