All about Assumption College

Assumption College is an autonomous institution for young women run by Changanassery Archdiocese. The college provides an environment for the inner growth of youth. The teachers are really friendly and teach with great enthusiasm. The college provides hostel for students. To enrol in the college you need to apply directly through their online portal. Preferred this college as it is autonomous. The examination is done regularly with results published within 30 days.

Assumption College provides a wide range of Bachelors and Masters degree. They also provide diploma courses. The faculty is well experienced with great teaching techniques. I choose Ba English Language and Literature. The English department is a well-known department with amazing faculty. The number of students is more in the Bachelor's program. The professors are friendly and easy to approach. Many of them hold a doctorate. Term exams are conducted regularly with internal examinations, assignments and viva.

The students are eligible to participate in campus placement last year. The campus placement depends upon the courses you choose. For my program, three companies came- GOAN institute, Sutherland and another content writing program. Those who took BCom and BBA gets different placement companies. Many students get placed. But most of them choose to persue masters degree.

Fees are affordable for aided programs and self-financing programs with a little more fees. The fees are as regulated by MG University. The college provides a large number of scholarships for students. There is no campus stipend.

The campus life is amazing. The college union organises various events for the college like the college day, arts day, merit day. Other clubs are CSM, quiz club, reading club, choir etc. The college conducts an annual mission day organised by all students and the money raised is provided for charity. Assumption college is well known for its sports team. They have talented athletes, volleyball players, basketball players and many of them secured jobs from the government. Each department conducts their own intra and inter-college fests. The fashion department conducts two annual fashion show.

The hostels are run by nuns. They provide good food and facilities. There is a small restriction on the usage of mobile phones. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms are hygienic. A hostel is an amazing place for students. They celebrate different festivals and have social and cultural programs.
