Assessment is an ongoing process aimed at understanding and improving student learning. IDE is a uniquely designed unit of the University of Madras. While we are strong in developing and delivering course ware in the traditional print mode, significant achievements have been made in instructional design using recent technologies. Distance Learning has become one of the primary engines behind much of the world's literacy growth. The Institute of Education was established in 1981 as a constituent of the University of Madras with the objective of providing opportunity for greater access to education and thereby raising the levels of intellectual attainments of people from different strata of our Country as well as from other countries.

According to my opinion all student will shellet and getting more benefit , he oriental and Indian languages departments are located in the Marina Campus. The Guindy campus incorporates the natural sciences departments while the campus at Taramani houses the school of basic medical sciences. The sports union and the botanical garden are based in Chetpet and Maduravoyal campus respectively.in all place they will provide service for student.

The University of Madras has developed an excellent Institute of Distance Education in the year 1981 to help learners to achieve their educational, career and personal goals. It has completed more than 25 years of service in the field of Distance Education. Now the IDE is offering 22 Undergraduate Courses, 14 Postgraduate Courses, 9 Postgraduate Science Courses, 5 Professional Courses, 16 Diploma Courses and 12 Certificate Courses. Admissions are made throughout the year for all these 78 Programmes in two streams namely Academic Year Admissions and Calendar Year Admissions. The Institute is providing quality study materials in Self Learning Format to the students. Further, sincere efforts are taken to promote borderless education at global level through Tele- Education mode. Admissions are also made through the authorised Spot Admission and Study Centres. The IDE has 30 Spot Admission Centres located in different parts of Tamil Nadu. It has 50 Study Centres located in other States of our Country and has 11 Overseas Study Centres. Presently, the Institute has about 1,60,000 students on roll.

Not more expency compare to there collage our university is getting less fee only. In India mainly south India they are providing more service. they provide job for more staff and student also University of Madras offers fee concession to physically challenged persons and prisoners subject to the following norms. Candidates with 75% physical disability on production of disability certificate from The Director, Institute of Physical Disability and Rehabilitation, K.K. Nagar, Chennai will be exe.

Region State College is participating in the Higher Learning Commission Assessment Academy. The Academy experience is a four year commitment (2015-2019) focused on assessing and improving student learning. LRSC's academy project, Multiple Delivery Modes, Consistent Outcomes: Assessing Student Learning, will assess learning of course-outcomes across delivery modes using a common assessment tool, compile evidence of student learning for stakeholders, and effectively communicate assessment expectations.
