Remarks
I chose this college mainly because it is in Delhi and I was interested in learning skills apart from the college's curriculum. The college is quite decent, except the campus. The campus is not very lavish but has all the facilities, we have an okay canteen, football ground etc. Also, Because of the less number of people in every batch, it is easier for us to get the chance to participate in various contests and fests. The admission process is quite simple, it is through Josaa counseling. The portal opens after JEE advanced exam and we need to put colleges in order of how much we want them. While selecting, I read reviews from Quora, college unit, etc and I felt that it is good as long as you don't long for a big campus.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Computer science because I am very interested in technology and I want to build and innovate in this field. The student-faculty ratio is almost 60:1. The faculty is very qualified and teaches well. Even during the lockdown, online classes were conducted in a disciplined manner. The term exams are always taken on time and I don't think it is difficult to pass them.
Internships Opportunities
Since I am in my second year, I don't know much about the internship opportunities, but a lot of my seniors have got internship opportunities and the stipend was also decent like 15k per month. Projects are given in the classes, which help us gain skills that get us internships.
Placement Experience
Campus placements are good because our Placement cell works really hard to call the reputed companies for hiring and you'll definitely get a job if you are serious about it. Internship opportunities begin from 3rd year and placement also occurs from 3rd yr. A lot of companies like Swiggy, Capgemini, etc come here. Mass recruiters aren't invited. The highest to date is 43 lpa. The average for CSE last year was 9 lpa. My plan is to get placed after the degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees have been hiked recently and it is nearly 83k per semester. The hostel is affordable and costs 10k per semester but the mess is private and charges 3k per month. But for SC, ST, and people with income below 5 lac, the fee is kept low and there are a lot of scholarship opportunities. There is a separate cell that works on bringing these opportunities to students.
Campus Life
Annual fest(February) is conducted every year and it is okay, you will have fun when you participate. In addition to it, tech fest and sports fests (March)are also conducted with much zeal by the students. Classrooms have AC that does not perform very well. The auditorium has fully functional ACs. Teachers mostly teach through ppts and hence we have projectors in every classroom. Sports are encouraged a lot in the college and our sports teacher personally pays attention to all the freshers. Our college has won many inter NIT competitions in spite of the lack of facilities.
Hostel Facilities
Facilities: Washing machine, microwave, etc for common use. The rooms do not have AC but they are well ventilated and hence aren't very warm during summers. Meals aren't great but are eatable. The menu is plain, a nice breakfast is given for 2 days a week. But overall, one can eat enough because they provide options. The registration process is really simple. You just need to fill a form and then meet Suman ma'am, she allocates you a room and then you go back to the accounts section and pay the fee. I would say the hostel is affordable. But I left the hostel as they do not allow going out after 7:30. Now, I live nearby. The locality is Green Valley apartments.
