Remarks
The reviews of the college from the alumni were really encouraging and none of them seemed to be disappointed with their college experience. The exposure which the college provided further lured me into the decision. Good - 1. Student community is really friendly. There is no scope of ragging and the authorities take strict actions if there is any. 2. Exposure is immense there are a plethora of clubs be it technical/non- technical/cultural where you can pursue your hobbies/ hone your skills and learn to work in a team. 3. Manipal is an amazing place to stay and there are various recreational spots to explore. Bad - 1. The fee is high. 2. Some of the professors aren't interested in teaching and just run slides, most of the learning is out of the classroom.
Course Curriculum Overview
The faculty-student ratio in a big plus around 20:1 that is better than most colleges. Most of them are PhDs from reputed institutions. I am an ECE student are most are faculties are really good. They are passionate about their subject and pass the knowledge with great enthusiasm. We usually have 4 assignment (5 marks) 2 sessional (15 marks) and the end seems (50 marks). 18 marks are required to pass in endsems and 20 marks in internals.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like Microsoft, Deloitte and Goldman Sachs have offered internships in both tech and non-tech roles with some students converting the internship into a pre-placement offer. It is generally offered during the 3rd year.
Placement Experience
Placements are pretty good. There is a good balance of tech / non-tech and management profile. Companies like Goldman Sachs, Microsoft and Amazon visit the campus for recruitment. The highest package offered is of around 43lpa with an average of around 7 LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are high although there are some scholarships in terms of merit in MET. Other than that there are student loans provided. Placement is decent. The college although charging a lot seems to be worth it. The infrastructure is one of the best in the country. There is also a free Coursera subscription and discounted Grammarly subscription for each student.
Campus Life
This is by far the best thing about the college. There are more than 100 clubs in the college ranging from coding/ consulting to stand up comedy/ poetry clubs. You name a hobby and there will be a club for it. There are also various student projects focused on robotics, building electric cars, developing and researching on AI etc. Sports are also really prevalent and opportunities are immense. There is a weekly in campus league for various sports where there are teams in the campus who compete. Tech fest is tech tatva and cultural fest revels are the best times of the semester.
