Remarks
Owing to the fact that I wanted to pursue English Honours after 12th grade, I initially took admission to City College (North). But then in the last merit list somehow my name came and I went for counselling and I opted to go for Jaipuria rather than staying at City college. This is so because, as per my knowledge was concerned the English faculty in Jaipuria was known as one of the best in North Kolkata and the environment out there was better. The library and infrastructure were good and most importantly no matter what classes are being held regularly.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because this was what I wanted to do from the start. Faculty members will always be there to help everyone in need, no matter the hour. There is about 1 faculty member per 8 students. The teaching method is rather orthodox, but it does the job well. Terminal exams used to occur in September during 1st and 2 years and a selection test before the final part exam. There was no midterm for the final year students but the selection test was mandatory. But the selection test didn't matter much, as almost everyone was allowed to sit in the exam if the whole year attendance reaches the need.
Placement Experience
Concentrix and Indigo are the regular companies there with a package ranging between 1,25,000 to 2,50,000 PA. Placements depend entirely on your interviewing skills. But getting above 50% in CU in the honours subject is way too difficult a task but that's the minimum marks you should get in order to crack the interview with surity.
Fees and Financial Aid
As it was a govt. college the fees was too less like about 2.5k a year. No scenario of scholarship was there maybe there is some now and companies like Indigo and Concentrix used to come for placement.
Campus Life
Social life was rather dull because it didn't have a field to play outdoor games. We do have a common room though where we could play TT and Carrom. Other than that there used to extracurricular activities rarely like thy of football tournaments quiz and debate competitions etc.
