Entrance Preview
I applied for CET exam, conducted by GGSIPU (Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University) for entrance to MCA exams. There are no marks displayed, however rank is published on the internet for qualifying students, who then need to go for counselling. I do not remember my exact rank, but it was somewhere between 400 to 490.
Course Curriculum Overview
JIMS is affiliated to GGSIPU university and and the course covers various aspects of IT, software, application , programming and other practical aspects including projects, viva, dissertation, etc. It is in detail and books mentioned covers gives candidate a good knowledge of basics and advanced principles of Software engineering.
Internships Opportunities
No internship was provided by College. Few companies who came to campus, and students who cleared thier exams were offered internship though. Example Persistent, Value momentum, L& T, TCS, Sapient. Persistent gave a stipend RS 7525, Sapient gave a stipend of Rs 7000. Value momentum gave a stipend of RS 5000. TCS did not offered internship program.
Placement Experience
All the students were placed. Placement cell kept calling companies untill all students were placed. Once very few students were lft students were sent to campus. Teachers and placement cells even guided students for interviews and mock interview sessions were organized to help students to prepare themselves for job interviews.
Faculty
All the faculty members of JIMS college were extremely knowledgeable and extra helpful for the students. Teachers helped students not only in just understanding the concepts but also guided thoroughly how to prepare themselves as per the standards of the IT industry.
