Course Curriculum Overview
It is a Five year course which is divided into Semesters. Semester 1-6 is college affiliation and from Semester 6,Mumbai University starts. First Half of 4th Semester is Internship which is 6 months. 5th year is Thesis which is followed by a 6 Month wait for License.
Internships Opportunities
Yes,the college provides internship in the fourth year. We are selected on the basic of our design folios. I have not yet experienced it because I am still in the third year,but from the seniors sayings,internship gives a huge boost in experience and confidence with work-ex.
Placement Experience
Placements are on basis of marks and design folios. Usual placements are in Mumbai,Bangalore and Pune. Packages are around 10-12k for internships and after degree it is around 25k for junior architect at any firm. Out of a batch of 180,around 100-120 were placed.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is RS 86000 for a year,this excludes examination fees and other expenses. Examination fees is Rs 760/- per semester and cost of events ,to attend are usually Rs 550-700. Yes,it is an expensive course,but it is feasible. The fee for 5th Year is least i.e Rs 65000.
Fees and Financial Aid
No,our college does not give any scholarship,however for OBC/SBC students the fees is 15% of the regular fee structure. No loans are offered and I have not availed any of it.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are very moderate,however are hygienic. But the college has accommodation only for boys. The mess food is very average with mostly all fast food items that compromises on health factors as it is oily and deep fried. Prices are very low in terms of affordability.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network is very well spread to foreign countries as well. Senior students are doing exceptionally good in the further education or fields they have opted.
Exam Structure
Exam structure is divided every 6 months as per semester,there are four exams viz. Services, Theory of structures,Building Services and Humanities. Yes,it is a very hectic schedule during exams as during the same period we have design folio submission.
Admission
Submitted XII STD markshet and NATA result card which is valid for admission to architecture. 180 total seats are available and I got in through open quota. I secured admission in the second round of NATA. Notification was released in July and college began in August.
Faculty
The faculty ranges from young architects to older experienced architects who have a tremendous knowledge base. It is divided into two parts, in-house and external faculty. External faculty is only available for main subjects and they have their own firm outside.
