Remarks
Pros: It is autonomous college. Nice infrastructure. Lab facilities are good. Nice canteen facility. Good auditorium. Faculty are average, depends on us to learn about the subject. Few MNC companies recruit for campus placements. Can join this college through the EAMCET counseling or management seat category. Got to know about this college from relatives. Cons: Far from City. If staying in the city it is difficult to come to college. City Bus facilities are available at specific times only. Need to depend on college bus which is of high fare or need to depend on our own transport.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was interested in Electronics, so selected this ECE course. In B.tech first year there would be around 30 people in the class and in second-year polytechnic graduates join the course, then students would be around 40 in a class. Some faculty would have PG qualifications and some others have minimum M.tech qualifications. Lab technicians would have minimum B.tech qualifications. Teaching is average should not expect much, it all depends on the interest and learning capability of the individual. Midterm exams are conducted periodically around 3 months gap and these exams wouldn't be so tough if prepared for the syllabus provided. External exams are conducted within the college as it autonomous college and the difficulty level of exams we cannot predict it's all dependent on individual preparation level.
Placement Experience
Companies come to college from 3year the 2nd semester. Companies TechMahindra, IBM, Capgemini, and NTT Data visited for campus placements but other Mallareddy campus students also attend most of these placements which makes high competition. Not a high percentage got placed in companies. The highest package was around 3.8LPA. Getting placement in a visited MNC requires extra effort apart from the academic curriculum by learning aptitude, technical knowledge, and be fluent in communication skills. One who is good at these can crack campus interviews.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fees were around Rs.56100 in the year 2013. Also, the college has a library fee and collects the JNTU exam fee. Joining through EAMCET counseling and having a rank less than 10,000 makes tuition fees null. If the rank is above 35000 and annual income is less than Rs.1lakh(may be changed now in the year 2020 to income less than Rs.2 lakh) then the government pays Rs.35000 tuition fee.
Campus Life
In the month of March, Akshara fest is conducted on Engineer's day. Where students present various projects in the exhibition, also there would be a DJ event. The library is average, not all academic books available. Mostly only academic books are available not to expect storybooks. There are a big cricket stadium and volleyball court.
Hostel Facilities
The college has a boys and girls hostel. Also, there are no. private hostels are there in Maisammaguda. Hostels are available within walkable distance from the college. Hostels were not too costly in the year 2013. Meals are average and vary from hostel to hostel.
