Remarks
I opted for this college because I have heard about its previous year records and the alumni were in good places. Also, the computer science department was a good choice here. It was closer to my city and it had a good moderate infrastructure. All in all, it's just a tier 3 college with a good reputation in the NCR area. The bad aspect of the college is that some of the faculty members including the head of departments aren't very cooperative with students. They treat you like labors and expect you to pull of a miracle. A lack of coding culture and absence peer to peer intellect is a major drawback. The crowd is mixed and diverse but you might have to struggle a bit to adjust. Overall some faculty members are very supportive and caring and most aren't. So I guess there is a mixed vibe here as well. If the peers are good then I think it's not that bad for a college.
Course Curriculum Overview
Computer Science was my course of choice. I genuinely had interests in the field that's what made me pursue it. The faculty to student ratio is pretty good. I guess 1:35 might be the ideal ratio here. Some faculties are very qualified and experienced and some faculties don't even know what they are talking about. So a mixed faculty experience is here. The internal exams are easy and the external exams are organized by AKTU, and they too aren't very difficult to clear.
Internships Opportunities
Very few opportunities are present through college. I got an internship at Deloitte as a web developer for 3 months with a stipend of 10k per month. The project we worked on used Django framework. The overall experience for me was great.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placements in the 7th semester onwards. This year 2020 hasn't been too promising but still, some companies visited our college for pool campus and on-campus placement activities. Josh Tech for pool campus, Deloitte for internship on campus, TCS pool campus, VVDN, Mobilizeon, Pimcore, Centilytics, Grapecity, etc came for on campus.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee has been spiking up every year. In 2017 the fee for the 4th year was around 1,10,000 lpa. But now in 2021 it's 1,26,519 lpa. The exam fee is 7500 rs for a year. The study costs are pretty much covered in the above-mentioned range. Campus placement here is very terrible this year, to be honest. I have offers from Deloitte and TCS here.
Campus Life
Social Life at IMS is good. For me it was good. I met a few brilliant group of people in my first year who are still my best buddies. The boy-girl ratio is pretty good as well. There are various clubs and musical societies too. Technocultural events are organized on a regular basis.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel came up with 3 seating, 2 seating, and a single-seating facility in the first year. Now I guess the room allotment is only one person in a room due to Covid condition. The rooms are spacious and clean. Wi-Fi is available with a speed of approx 300 to 400 kilobytes per second. Some rooms have attached convenience while others don't. Some rooms have an air conditioner option as well. Mess food is above average here.
