The curriculum is well designed and oriented in such a way to prepare its students industry ready. The faculty is well experienced and holds a doctorate from prominent institutions of the world. The teaching method of faculty is well like a school you won't feel that college like teaching that teacher is going on continuously like a parrot and sharing the PPT at the end.

There are many internships available on campus and off-campus, many research project going on in the university selects students for their projects. Institute has collaborated with many other institutions and companies for placement as well as internships. UIET has MoU with various universities around the world like the University of Western Australia, IITK, IITR, and many research institutions in India.

Many students opt for higher studies more than half of the students are selected in CAT and GATE examination of Mechanical engineering, corporate placement at the campus is also quite satisfactory. Many companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, TCS, Infosys (mass recruiting), Eicher Motors, TATA, Mahindra and Mahindra, etc.

It is a central government-funded University, the fee for a year is around 99k, which is to be deposited in two installments of 40k and 59k each. 40k is the seat acceptance fee which is adjusted in the fee for the first installment. There are various scholarships available for the students on the basis of the family income. Students with family income less than 1 lakh gets 100% fee refund at the end of the year and various other scholarship provided by the Indian government.

There is more than 78 department at Panjab University and one of them is UIET. More than 20 thousand students are enrolled on the campus. There are many fests organized by the various departments and clubs of the University with the footfall of more than one lakh people. As Chandigarh is known as city beautiful, life at the campus and city are outstanding and happening. As Panjab University has the largest library in Asia in terms of volume of books and journals, you will find any book or magazine that you can think of. Talking about sports on the campus, each department has its own ground and facilities for the sports and there is also a separate department of sports. Most of the sports facilities are available from cricket, hockey, football, tennis, badminton, swimming (there is a swimming pool also), etc.

There is around 20 hostel available for the students, hostels are not alloted to the students of Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panchkula. But there is less number of hostels than students. So students have to take PG outside the campus. The cost of the hostel is very affordable like 12k per annum. Food quality in the mess is good but not as good as mother's food. There are many food shops available on the campus and there is a south Indian restaurant in the Students center.
