Want to take admission in civil engineering in MITS Gwalior, read this first.

I chose this college because first of all, it is a government college, secondly, I wanted to be in the same city and it's the best college in the city for engineering and one of the best colleges of MP. Admission is done through mp date counseling, there are several rounds of counseling in which admission is given on the basis of your jee mains ranking and the last round of counseling is college-level counseling in which admission is given on the basis of ranking + class 12th percentage. Reasons for preferring it over others is first it is a government college and its fees are quite less compared to other colleges in the city and academics is better than other colleges.

I wanted to be a civil engineer. All the faculty is well qualified and experienced. Most of the faculty are PhD holders in their respective fields. The rest of the faculty are either pursuing PhD or atleast have done MTech. There are around 3-4 teachers for each subject of the course. Teaching method is good but sometimes it gets difficult to understand the teaching of some faculty. Exams are held from time to time. At the beginning of the session, the academic calendar is provided for the whole year, and exams are held according to that calendar only. Exams are ok if you study properly you can pass them easily but if you don't then you can't pass.

From 1 year onward there is a compulsory summer internship in the college that is a campus internship and in the second year, there is an internship for personality development but for internships under companies I think there is no such type of internship in college.

From 7 semester students are eligible for campus placement, Companies like Tata projects, Indian Hume Pipe, Capgemini trident group, etc. visited for a civil branch. 3-4 lakh is the average package offered. My plan is to go for higher studies

When I took the admission that is in 2018 fees for 1yr was 75k and around 50-60k per year for the next 3 years but now it went up to 1lac for the first year. There are several scholarship programs issued by a government that applies in college especially for SC/ST categories. Campus placement is quite good in college. You can sit in companies of your core branch as well as of others.

There are no tech fest or annual fest in the college but there are several events conducted by different clubs and societies of the college in an entire year. You can get books from the library but sometimes there is a shortage of books in the library. There are several sports played in college. Teams also go for state level and national level competition. There are several extracurricular activities conducted the whole year by different clubs and societies of the college. College also has an NSS and NCC program. There are about 54+ clubs in the college such as dance club, art club, music club, TEDx club, sports club, drama club, literary, ISTE student chapter, health club.
