Remarks

I appeared for IPU CET entrance exam and applied to this college through IPU Centralised Counselling. Now the admissions are done on the basis of rank obtained in Jee Mains. Also, the main point to note that starting next year or maybe after 2 years it will be made as a separate University along with other colleges under Government Of NCT of Delhi as Skill Development Centre. Those seeking admission must regularly check the important dates and details on the IP University website, www.ipu.ac.in.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The main reason I chose Mechatronics over regular CS/IT/Mech degree was that this degree was gonna be the need of the future. Well, this field is definitely gaining attention in Countries like Japan, Germany, Singapore etc and so will happen in India in the coming years. Now talking about the course, The curriculum is good but I noticed that some of the things in this curriculum are old and are not updated to match the current technology. The syllabus was last updated in 2014. The faculty is good overall with a teacher student ratio of 1:65. Now, this ratio is decreasing every year as students mainly focus on core streams and not a hybrid of them.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placement drives usually start from September for students who are in the 7th Semester. Currently, no company has come for recruitment in our college because of the COVID 19 pandemic. Also, our seniors who were placed lost their jobs because of the same. Speaking generally Maruti Suzuki is the biggest recruiter in our college, they hire on the basis of test and PI. Sadly most of the companies that come in our college recruit only tool engineers which is another discipline being offered by our college. Although there is very less scope for Mechatronics engineer still we can approach off-campus placements provided our educational record is good.

Fees and Financial Aid

Talking about the fees, it's very less as compared to other engineering colleges. The year, I took admission in i.e 2017 the fees was 60k for the first year and 57k for subsequent years. Now the fees have increased to approx 86k per year for new admissions. Also, there are various scholarships schemes available to students given that it is a government college. One can apply to both the Central Government and Delhi Government scholarship schemes. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit, social categories, disabilities and also to students with parents having a defence background. So if anyone wants to apply for the scholarship. They can contact the college admin or visit the respected govt websites to know the eligibility and benefits for the same.

Campus Life

2.5

Well, this section is enough to break the dreams of students wanting to have a happening college life. The college campus is very small with a little ground that is utilised for all the sports (like gully sports). The college has a space of 5 acres but most of it is unusable because of dense vegetation, hill type slopes and also the remaining flat area that was left is being utilised to build an incubation centre for startups talking about the fests, there is an annual cultural fest conducted by GGSIPU namely ANOOGUNJ, also tech fests happen in the college by the name ENNOGY provided students take the responsibility to organise them and have enough patience and energy to keep asking college authorities to fund them. Also, there are no active clubs in the college right now. Talking about the classes are okay with proper ventilation and a lot of dust. Library along with book bank has almost all the books mentioned in the curriculum but not enough to cater to every student.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

Course Curriculum Overview:

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good in DTU. Usually a student is eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki, etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
