JADAVPUR UNIVERSITY - COLLEGE OF DREAMS

Jadavpur University is one of the top colleges in the world and it provides various courses too. The college campus is very big and has almost every facility available. The admission process is completely merit-based. The marks obtained in class 12 is very important to get admission here. This college helps you to get various scholarships and also the teachers are all great professors who are ready to share their knowledge with you.

Physics is one of the mother subjects and the faculty available is too good. The faculties of Chemistry, Mathematics as well as Geology are also up to the mark. The faculty consists of about 40 teachers and all of them are well qualified-they attend various seminars all over the world and also has published various books too. The exams are based on the CBCS system. There are two yearly exams divided into two semesters. In honours, we have to give a total of 6 semesters in 3 years. The average SGPA in every semester is about 7.5-8.0 and it helps you in your future. Since, it is an autonomous college, the papers will be checked by the college teachers itself.

The college helps you to get internships but it is you who should have the knowledge about various internships. For almost every internship, you need to have the consent of the Head of the Department of your course and the college. In that way, the college helps you in the best possible way and also as soon as possible. You can get internships in IITs, NITs and many more. These internships would help you in the future too.

The placement cell works hard so that every student gets placed in a good company. Every year almost 90% of the students get placed but you need to complete your course to get placed in the college premises. Various companies like TCS, Microsoft, L&T etc visit the college and recruit the best ones. The average package is around 10 Lakhs which is very decent. The highest packed till now offered has been of 35 Lakhs. Since I am pursuing honours, I want to continue my studies before getting into jobs.

The fee structure is very much student-friendly. Many students who are financially not stable come here to study. At the time of admission, you need about 2000 and then 1500 will be required yearly. That's not too much considering all other colleges. The college helps the minorities to catch up by various considerations in fees. The college has not particular scholarship but they help students to get other scholarships. It is a very handy college in terms of financial conditions.

The college campus is very jolly. It may take about 2-3 days to know the whole campus with your eyes and ears. Since there are various departments in the college, there are many events that go on from time to time. Actually, the festive period continues for 6-7 months. There are no entry passes required to enter in any of the fests. Various renowned artists and other famous people come and enjoy the beauty of this place. Jadavpur University also has its own ground for outdoor games like football, cricket etc. Several tournaments are also held. The indoor games include swimming, table tennis, gymnastics etc. It also sends their players to play for the college and win. There are also other clubs like Photography, Drama, Mountaineering etc. You can join them and can have various other experiences too.
