Remarks
While everyone sets out to get into IIM A, B, C the reality is that only a few hundred make it. Sooner than later you realize there are other B-Schools which can provide you with an experience and opportunities close to that of the IIMs. TAPMI is definitely one of those B schools, accreditations such as AACSB and AMBA are a testimony for the quality of learning one can receive here. The admission cycle begins with the submission of the application followed by which students are shortlisted based on their CAT/XAT percentiles. Students who receive a call then will have to go through a group discussion, written assessment, Group activity and finally a personal interview. All these processes happened on the same day for me in 2020. There might be some changes in the selection process this year due to the pandemic and everything happening virtual.
Course Curriculum Overview
As I wanted to make a career in sales and marketing this program provided me with a perfect platform for the same. The faculty to student ratio is around 1:20. Most Professors take time to address questions of each student. Upon request, there are doubt clearing sessions arranged in which students can get doubts cleared and can also seek assistance for other projects they have taken up. The exam schedule was tweaked this year taking into account that the entire process happened online. There are frequent quizzes (tests), assignments and projects which will ensure that you stay ahead of the learning curve.
Placement Experience
We have a full-time corporate engagement team consisting of both students and teachers who work year-round to ensure that top companies visit for SIPs and final placements. The highest package was around 25 lakhs while the mean package is around 11 lakhs.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fee is around 7 LPA and the hotel fee is around 1.7 LPA. There are some scholarship opportunities. The specific details of which are available on the TAPMI official website. Loan support is also available.
Campus Life
Due to the pandemic, our program has been happening online. There are many good things I have heard about campus life but haven't experienced them as of yet. Though we haven't been on campus committees are working in full swing there are close to 20 committees ranging from sports to cultural. There will be selections held for these committees during the first month of the program.
Interview Experience
As mentioned previously once a candidate receives a call it's followed up with a GD, WAT, GA and PI. The topics for GD are mostly contemporary, the topic during my GD was is cricket given more priority than other sports in India. There were 12 other candidates in the GD. The discussion remained civil for the most part of the discussion. Most of them got an opportunity to speak at least once. This was followed by WAT on the same topic. There were two interviewers during the PI questions were mostly related to the profile and answers given to the questions in the application.
