Summer Placements - IIM Raipur

Indian Institute of Management, Raipur pros include the IIM brand, which we don't get in colleges like IMT, Ghaziabad. The infrastructure at the new campus is very good as its relatively new. Cons include bureaucratic administration, being a government institute. You have to take the Common Admission Test(CAT) which is conducted in November each year. Minimum percentile required depends on your category-General/OBC/SC/ST etc. and other metrics of your profile. Then, we are called for a written test and interview in the Common Admission Process(CAP), which is common for most new and baby IIMs. You write an article and appear for an interview around February and March. I preferred IIM Raipur over baby IIMs because the campus is there. Pagalguy IIM Raipur page may be referred, Admission committee members are active there right from the beginning.

The course is a benchmark two year MBA program for IIM Raipur, I chose the course as it has better placement in their report. Total students in the batch are 266 and around 20 professors, which makes the ratio quite good. Some faculty have studied at best universities of the world including the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. The teaching method is case-based for most subjects, which is same as in best business schools. Term exams are timely, but in our batch, some difficulties have been there due to COVID pandemic. Exams are quite easy if you listen in class. Exams are not the only grading metric here, you can also score in-class participation, assignment, projects etc.

More than 80 companies have visited the campus for summer placements till now. Average placements stipend and other things will be released in the placement reports in due time. The placement team has substantial relations with various corporate organizations.

Placement season starts from the end of term 5 itself. For Final placements, till now more than 70 companies have visited the campus. More than half the batch is placed. Average package is around 12 LPA. I plan to join an Analytics firm after MBA.

It is a purely residential program. Everyone enrolled has to stay in the hostel only, The total fees for two years in 14,02,400 rupees. The cost to study is that only, other than that you may enrol in an international exchange program, you may incur some excess expenses over and above it. No institute specific scholarship program is there in any IIM, but options are available for applying in central government schemes.

This year due to COVID our whole life has been in front of a laptop only, However, even in the online library has been very helpful. There are exceptional sporting facilities on the campus, including a swimming pool, basketball court and other stadia as well. The annual fest is conducted each year, but due to COVID fest was not conducted. However, academic rigor is maintained even in pandemic and the goal was to bring 100 CXO level people into the campus. There are 13 clubs and committees on the campus who take care of various responsibilities. The recruitment to these clubs and committees is conducted from each batch two months after we join.

We have a single person per room policy in IIM Raipur. Quality of food and menu is in hands of students body called 'Hostel and Mess committee' only. All the decisions are taken by the committee and administration supports the committee in that respect. It is a fully residential program and students are compulsorily alloted a hosted room on admission.

There was no GD. Just a general personal interview was there. They just want to measure you up as a person. It depends on what direction you want to take your interview. First questions are generally based on your profile, whatever you have mentioned in your CAP form. There is also a written ability test before interview. The combined score for CAT, WAT and PI along with profile scores are used to release final shortlist of the program. Mock WAT and PIs can be taken to prepare for this round.
