Remarks
As a dream to get an MBA from one of the prestigious B schools of the country, I chose IIM Raipur. The admission process was initiated soon after the CAT results were declared. I had my CAP round interview on February 19th. The results of the CAP were declared during May 2020. I converted IIM Raipur to the first list on May 25th and various other colleges under CAP: IIM Jammu, IIM Sirmaur, IIM Kashipur, IIM Bodhgaya, and IIM Ranchi. I decided to go with IIM Raipur as I read multiple reviews and also saw myself aligned with the deliverables.
Course Curriculum Overview
Being from a Technical Background I felt I was lacking in Business Expertise and the Corporate globe revolves around business. So I decided to take up an MBA degree to understand how to go about solving business problems in the modern world. The student-teacher ratio is quite good and the faculties are equipped with exposure to industry research and mentorship. The management makes sure the exams are held as per the schedule with 2/3Quizzes, Mid Term, End Term, Assignments(Group and Individual), Case Studies in each course. Being an IIM, one can expect a decent academic rigor however, if the one performs the tasks and plan his/her activities timely and consistently, he/ she can easily sail through the academics.
Internships Opportunities
The Placements team works hard to provide Summer Internship opportunities to its students. Class of 21 have witnessed 100% placements with over 140 recruiters with the highest package of 3.91 Lakhs and an average package of 88 thousand. The projects offered are real-time problem solutions of the business world which help the students learn more by applying the theoretical concepts they undergo in their curriculum.
Placement Experience
The placement process starts from the beginning of the First Term boosting the professional upliftment of the students in terms of CV updates and Interview preparations. The Placement Committee works round the clock to provide Summer Placements and Final Placements which go on simultaneously. As many as 150 recruiters offered various roles to the Batch of 2020 across multiple domains. the industry-wise break up is BFSI: 20%, Strategy and Consulting: 18%, IT & ITES: 18%, Manufacturing : 16%, FMCG: 6%, E-Commerce: 5% and Others: 6%. The institute has been registering 100% placements with the Highest Domestic package of 28.12 LPA and the Average Package of 15.2 LPA. My plans after the degree are to take up a Job aligned with my area of interest and enter the corporate globe.

As per the Batch of 20- 22, the Total fee structure costs around 14.2 Lakhs. In addition to this, there are extra mess charges per term to be paid separately. The fee of 14.2 Lakhs is to be paid on a term basis. Scholarship specific to IIM Raipur is not in place, however, one can avail the same from the state government by checking the eligibility. The Institute has made provisions with the bank to provide loans for all the students for financial assistance.

The classroom contains well structured with Air Conditioners and other amenities. Other facilities include mess facilities, gym, sports.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities at IIM Raipur is pretty good. The institute provides the individual room with an attached bathroom to students. The rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi, radiant cooling, laundry. Tables and chairs are provided along with the rooms. The mess serves all types of food from South Indian to Chinese to North Indian. The mess committee is in charge of deciding the menu for the week. The institute also has a 24*7 canteen to cater to the late night hunger of the students.
Interview Experience
IIM Raipur is one of the participating IIMs in the CAP(Common Admission Process) round. The round had a mix of WAT(Written Ability Test) followed by a personal interview. WAT was an abstract topic one-liner. On the other hand, PI was of 25 - 30 minutes with a mix of General, Academic, and Work experience questions. It was not a stressful interview. Every participating IIMs have distinct criteria for admission with varying weightage given to CAT percentile, Academic Scores, Full-Time Work Experience, Academic diversity, and Gender Diversity. I made sure to go through the current affairs right after writing CAT. A good presence of mind and adequate smartness is enough to sail through the WAT - PI process.
