Remarks

There can't be a bad remark about the college management they are doing a commendable work.

Entrance Preview

No entrance exam was required to take the admission was on the basis of class 12th board's marks.I opted for this college as it is one of the most premier institution in the country and is consistently ranked among top three in India. So the choice was not difficult to make. Also the college is in vicinity of my native place as compared to other premier institutions.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course structure is very good and has everything required for a good course. B.com is a three year course and in first two years we have to study every subjects. In third year we are given a choice among marketing, finance and e-commerce.First two year curriculum include subjects like accounts, maths, statistics, management, costing and many others. So you get a knack of every field. Its in third year you move into specializing in a particular field and select according to your interest.

Internships Opportunities

Internships are part of curriculum in third year of specialization every student compulsorily has to do an internship and submit a report on it in the final semester. This report carries 100 marks in mark sheet,so its of utmost importance. The professor help you to find a suitable internship for you. The stipend varies from unpaid to 4000-5000.

Placement Experience

3.5

As its of the best college of the nation, good companies are bound to come.We have companies like Viacom 18, DE Shaw, PWC, Citi Bank, Google and many other on our campus. The pay scale goes upto 11 to 12 lacs but the average sticks to around 4 to 4.5 lacs. Hundreds of student get placed every year. Though there's a scope in this front as the number of big companies are not that much as you expect from such a renowned college.

College Events

3.5

We have many fests but he standout among them is Xavostav. Its the biggest fest in the eastern India at undergraduate level and also one of the best in India. Every year we have performances from artists like Hard Kaur, Papon and many accoplished singers, and bands like Parikrama and others. Many known college come to take part in it. Then there are departmental fest too in which we had had speakers like Mr.Arun Jaitely , Mr.Dinesh Trivedi and many others.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is also decent.B.com has two batches, morning and evening the morning is a government aided program and so the students get concession. The total cost of academics for three would cost around 60000 for a morning student and for evening, which is not an aided program, it would cost approximately one lac for three years and for a college of such repute, the amount is not much. Also it being a private institution and government makes it all the more worthy.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provide scholarships to the needful the college has a facility that any student whose monthly family income is less than 10000 can apply for concession.

Campus Life

3.5

The campus life truly matches the standard campus life the campus is very big there is a place called green benches where every student can sit, chill, talk, study the gender ratios is like 60:40 in favor of boys the highlight of our college is no ragging there is a not a single instance of ragging the social mingling is also very nice.

Hostel Facilities

3

The college also has a hostel facility which is decent but the seats are limited apart from it there are many PG facilities which would cost around 10-12 thousand if you want it in poshest locations and also near college the food quality in canteen is like decent and price is very much affordable.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network of the college is second to none.It has a very vast network any interaction with them helps you to sustain better the grueling life of college. Same is the case with Senior students they guide you in every sphere of college life.

Exam Structure

The exam pattern is quite simple.Three year are divided in six semesters, one happening in may and other november. We have CIA, Continous Internal Assessment, for assessment apart from semesters. They carry 20% weightage in semester mark sheet. We had presentation on every saturdays on a topic relating to the subjests in the semester. Groups were made to make a presentation and present it.This was part of internal assessment and carried 55 in final marks.

Admission

The admission procedure is simple.Just meet the minimum set cut-off and you are admitted.I cleared the cut-off and was admitted to the college. After the different board's marks are announced the college comes up with their cut-off and if you clear the cut-off, you are called on for an interview. On clearing it, you are admitted.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty of the college is one of the best you could get they are very helpful and understanding. Many proffesors are the renowned faculties of the country who author many books that are used in different universities and institutions every day after college gets over we could find them in the staff room and could get help in any matter, be it regarding a chapter or the assignment. There are separate cubicle for teacher and student to discuss any topic. Although some faculty member are not as good but thats a thing which bounds to happen everywhere. Overall its one of the best you could get.

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the course the b.com because I want to become the CA but after completing the graduation my family condition was not very good so I quit my studies and searching for the job. My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I'm pursuing because I'm interested in understanding how businesses work and want a solid foundation in commerce and finance. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.
