Remarks

IIM Shillong is one of the top 7 IIMs in the country. 100% placements in both summers and final placement. Most students got placed in consulting and marketing domain. Major recruiters include ITC, Bain, Delloite. Beautiful campus located in the midst of nature. USP is the beautiful cherry blossoms season. Shifting to the new campus this year which has world-class facilities. Highly qualified and helpful professors.

Course Curriculum Overview

Highly qualified and helpful professors. Eminent guest faculties from the best institutes in the country and abroad. Online classes have been a hindrance to classroom interactions and peer learning, but we are being called to campus in batches. Minimum 50% marks are required to pass each course.

Internships Opportunities

The college provides internship opportunities from campus. Internships have a duration of 2 months in April and May. The highest stipend is 300000. Several live project opportunities are also provided which maximises industry interaction.

Placement Experience

100% summer and final placements. Highest package 48.5 LPA in final and 3Lakh for 2 months in summer. Average package is 18.76 Lakh in final placements. I plan to bag a job in consulting domain post my MBA.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are on the higher side at 20 lakhs for 2 years, but need-based financial assistance is provided to those who need it. The average package for final placements is 18.76 lakh, while the highest package for finals and summers are 48 LPA and 3 lakhs respectively.

Campus Life

Annual Fest is Khlurthama which attracts participation from top colleges across India. All major books and journals are available in the college library, Bloomberg Terminal is present. The new campus is to have state of the art sports facility. Yet to experience much of the campus life as I have been attending classes from home

Interview Experience

My interview was in online mode owing to the pandemic and there was no GD round. Since I had more than 2 years of pre MBA work ex most of the questions were related to the same. What did you do at work? Challenges faced and how you overcame them?

Placement Experience:

The placement process if two fold, with first one commencing in the first year for summer internships. And after the first year you either get PPO or you go for the final placements. 98-99% of the batch gets places, with some of them opting out the placements.

I choose the course because after hotel management i was looking for an online MBA and fortunalely i met with some one in my friend and he suggested me to do the same. Faculty was good. But no online or any classes. Timings of the term exams were good.

Placement Experience:

The placements are good enough but the statistics don't paint the whole picture and they somewhat hide the whole picture. The highest package was around 32 lakhs per annum and the average was around 16-17 Lakhs per annum. Around 95% of students get placed quite easily.

The institute offers ample placement opportunities and offers 100% placement to the students. The highest package in 2020 was 48.5 LPA, with the average package around 18.76 lakh rupees per annum. Companies like ABG, ITC, Bain, Deloitte, DE Shaw, Goldman Sachs, Nomura participated in the placement process.

IIM Shillong Review

I cleared the CAT and applied for all the IIM'S including CAP which Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta. Lucknow, Kozhikode, Shillong, and all the 10 IIM's which come under CAP and also the 4 baby IIM's and out of the colleges mentioned I was able to clear Shillong all the Cap's and the baby IIM'S and the reason for joining Shillong were many and to name a few A better Alum Base. Better Placements. College was older. The reputation of the college. Tackling with the Alumnis. I had the SC Quota through which I got the required admission and they check. The admission criteria was a Case Bases GD and also in addition there is no such thing as minimum marks as the admission process has a very big weightage given to the interview so there is no lower limit to the marks you would have to enter the college. The process was fairly smooth and the counseling day was fairly quick and you had to submit the required documents which included the 10th 12th and the undergraduate mark sheets....Read More
